The duplexes here both have two pockets, while the Balmoral has ten altogether.
The "jotta" or "aide memoire" of the Balmoral (bottom) is visible on the right-hand section. A few sheets could be slotted in here for note taking.

It is rich in design with the applied glass items (“jewels”). This is located at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.

Comparison of ring sizes - 1/2", 7/8" and 5/4".
Duplexes were available in more than one ring size, while Balmoral was only ever offered with the large 5/4" rings.
