Looking down from the Lune viaduct on the old Tees Valley Railway. On a mini cycle tour of Northumberland.

North of Thailand. Some Thai guides take 3 or 4 people to hike in the hills and visit vllages of 'the Hill tribes people' . This ethnic group is 'Mon' (sometimes written differently).

These people used to cultivate poppy to sell the raw opium .

Interestingly most of them are tobacco addicts and very few smoke opium.

Sadly, these cute apartments are about to be pulled down for a modern new highrise. The Gold Coast is losing many of these character places. I have always loved the cute triangle balustrade.

Scavenger Challenge – October 2018 Assignment – Triangles

Our subject this month is "triangles." This could be a single naturally-occurring object like a piece of broken shell, or it could be something man-made like a traffic cone. It could also be something more subtle, like a beach scene in which three people form a "visual triangle" because they are standing at the points. In this case, the "triangle" should be immediately obvious to anyone looking at the photo. In other words, the three people occur as the elements of photographic (artistic) composition. The remainder of the photo should be relatively uncluttered. You want the viewer's eye to be caught by the three points.

I finished on the last day - yippee....!

we're gonna spread it around

This is detail from my rya rug, which hangs on the wall above the head of my bed. When I see all those colors streaming into my room like rays of sunshine, I feel cheerful.

The design of the rug is from a painting by Niels Nedergard (Danish, 1944-1967). The rug was bought in the Design Quest store in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in the early 1980's.
