Habíamos recorrido miles de kilómetros para fotografiar trenes en diversas regiones españolas pero, como de costumbre, regresábamos a casa con un pírrico botín. Necesitábamos que un golpe de suerte mejorara las sensaciones de un fin de semana en el que las nubes y las tormentas habían sido las auténticas protagonistas. Y pese a que Burgos nos ofrecía más de lo mismo, optamos por encontrar la redención entre las poblaciones de Quintanapalla y Pancorbo. De la primera localidad salimos espantados por culpa de una brutal tormenta que no dejó de golpearnos sin piedad durante 50 interminables kilómetros. A pesar de las circunstancias, desde el coche íbamos escudriñando el cielo en busca de un providencial cambio de tendencia que no se produjo hasta que llegamos al pueblo que da nombre al mítico desfiladero. En la estación, el panorama era infinitamente mejor pero, como seguía lloviendo con fuerza, nos quedamos dentro del coche a la espera de que el paso a nivel nos avisara de la llegada de algún tren. En el cielo comenzó a perfilarse un tímido arco iris y al salir del coche para fotografiarlo nos encontramos con la grata sorpresa de que en la playa de vías de Pancorbo se encontraba estacionada esta preciosa 319 completamente libre de grafitis. La alegría que me invadió fue tremenda porque en casi treinta años haciendo fotos de trenes era la primera vez que fotografiaba uno con un arco iris de fondo. Si esta no es una prueba de la infinita paciencia que tenemos los fotógrafos de trenes, a ver si existe alguien capaz de imaginar una evidencia más explícita....
We had traveled thousands of kilometers to photograph trains in various Spanish regions but, as usual, we returned home with a pyrrhic loot. We needed a stroke of luck to improve the feelings of a weekend in which clouds and storms had been the real stars. And despite the fact that Burgos offered us more of the same, we chose to find redemption between the towns of Quintanapalla and Pancorbo. From the first town we left scared because of a brutal storm that did not stop beating us mercilessly for 50 interminable kilometers. Despite the circumstances, from the car we were scanning the sky in search of a providential change in trend that did not occur until we reached the town that gives its name to the mythical gorge. At the station, the panorama was infinitely better but, as it was still raining heavily, we stayed inside the car waiting for the rail crossing to notify us of the arrival of a train. A timid rainbow began to appear in the sky and we got out of the car to photograph it, finding ourselves pleasantly surprised that this beautiful 319 was parked completely free of graffiti at the Pancorbo station. The joy that invaded me was tremendous because in almost thirty years taking pictures of trains it was the first time I had photographed one with a rainbow in the background. If this is not proof of the infinite patience we train photographers have, is there anyone who can imagine more explicit evidence?

The Vaygr Assault Craft is the smallest dedicated combat vessel in the Vaygr fleet. specializes in dogfighting other fighters, with excellent speed, maneuverability, and a single, powerful forward-mounted Flechette Cannon. It is sometimes classed as an 'interceptor' by other races, and this suits it well as it excels at intercepting and destroying other fighters.
Last year, I had the fortune of working with BrickFormation to develop several models from one of my all-time favorite strategy game franchises: Homeworld. Homeworld has always had a special place in my heart due to it's incredible spaceship designs and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to reproduce a few as best as I could. While this build has been done for quite some time, it can finally be posted, because the kit is officially for sale!
As this is my last post in a while, I also wanted to add a short update on things. Other than these models with Brickformation, my LEGO building has been at a standstill for most of the past year. I recently moved and all of my LEGO is currently in boxes with no timeline on when it will next be unearthed. I seem to be continuing a trend of building less and less things each year and am not sure quite when that trend will reverse. That said, I continue to enjoy watching the creative models that this community continues to put on display and hope one day to jump back in as time allows.

This is what 8:00pm looks like. In fact it doesn't really get dark at this time of year at all. The sun sets around 11:00pm and rises again around 3:00am, but there is no period when it gets darker then dusk. The down side is that this trend is reversed in winter, with but a few hours of daylight every day.
