Yesterday I posted a panorama view that was taken from the top of this tower. It is the Baumwipfelpfad Schwarzwald in Bad Wildbad.
The walkway from start to the top of the tower is 1,250 meters and a height of the walkway of up to 20 meters above the forest floor, the walkway meanders through beech, fir and spruce trees. The highlight is the 40-meter high, architecturally unique lookout tower that looks out over the valley below.
It is a real easy walk from the parking lot to the top and if you are too tired to walk back, there is a circular slide in the middle.
I hope you enjoy it.
This photo was taken at Lava Hot Springs, Idaho in early December before there was much snow. The little town is located along the Portneuf River in a canyon that blocks most of the sun in winter so the tops of some trees are in shadow while others are touched by sunlight.
Above the Treetops Lyrics : Pat Metheny
Autumn blew its leaves at me
Threatenin' winter as I walked
Summer always goes so quick
Barely stopping like my thoughts
Which dip and spin and change so fast
I have to wonder, oh, will I last, yeah
Through the windows of the train
I caught reflections of a paper cup
Hanging small in a pale blue sky
Never knowing which way's up
Above the clouds, what's to be found
I have to wonder, will I be around, yeah
As my anger shouts at my own self doubt
So a sadness creeps into my dreams
When you're scared of living but afraid to die
I get scared of giving
And I must find the faith to beat it, yeah
Must be me that's rushing by
Time just lingers on the wind
Bristlin' through my open fears
I wonder what it's going to bring
Above the clouds, what's to be found
I have to wonder, oh, will I be around, whoa
Run and hide, run and hide
I catch the sail at evenin' tide
Run and hide, run and hide
I catch the sail at evenin' tide
Run and hide, run and hide
I catch the sail at evenin' tide

In late October 2014, we drove the Corvette down to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri for a vacation. Our condominium was #169 at The Pines at the Treetops. It was part of the Villiage of the Four Seasons located in the beautiful Horseshoe Bend area.
From our vantage point on the top floor, we were able to see the lake through the trees. On this particular night, the sky was clear and the stars were shining. Down below and nestled into the trees on the hillsides are dozens upon dozens of the treetop condos, one which can be seen here. They are raised up above the ground (many being much higher than this) and the sides are entirely glass with blinds,
The vast Lake of the Ozarks, created in 1931 when the Osage River was dammed, has over 1,150 miles of shoreline and is a favorite resort destination in the midwestern part of the United States. It is home to huge fish and fast boats... and it is visited by people from around the world.

Todays hike through the trails ended up being 8.25 miles and the weather was phenomenal for it.
All pictures today were handheld as there just wasn't time to stop and set up.
I hope you enjoy it.

Treetops, a walk through Barhill Woods near Kirkcudbright. We don't always look up as we walk through a wood, maybe we should sometimes.

In early May I went out around my neighbourhood and "collected" a few treetops against a mix of blue sky and clouds that I found really appealing - I'd love to be able to identify these trees by name, but I can't. If you can, please do so in the comments, so I can tag them accordingly. Even without their names, I hope you enjoy them, too :)

Pixie has been studying the wood pigeons who have been eating the cherries in the nearby trees. I don't think she realized that Ray was sleeping below.
