road-trip - the Netherlands

This red winged blackbird was photographed perched in a tree top at Pine Glades Natural Area near Jupiter, Florida. See this, and more, on my website at www.tom-claud.pixels.com.

Maybe it just got tired of floating around all night and decided to rest for a while? ;)

And here's an old song: "Ask Me (For The Moon)"

Any relation to Leroy Brown, the baddest cat in the whole damned town?

Very happy to see White-winged Crossbills any time as it's been a few years now since we had a local irruption. Was a cold morning and I was shooting almost vertically at this male in the top of a spruce...made for a tired shoulder and numb fingers, but you gotta do what you gotta do! :)

I had a lie down while taking the dogs for a four hour walk!

The treetop walk through the karri forests of South West Australia... About 50M above ground it gives you an entirely different perspective with what a forest canopy is all about !!! The suspended walk way does sway a bit and is limited to a few persons each span but it's well worth it !!!

Visit to Coombes Valley RSPB.

A Yellow Warbler (Setophaga petechia) grabs a high perch on a sunny Spring day at MaGee Marsh Wildlife Area, near Oak Harbor, Ohio.

The Xstratus Treetop Walkway was opened in 2008 and is made from over 400 tonnes of weathered steel. It circles at 59 feet above the ground and is 656 feet long.

The lift wasn't working the day of our visit and the climb to the top for someone as unfit as me wasn't a great idea. I'm also not good with heights and was careful not to look down. It was certainly an experience but I don't think I'd do it again!

"Treetop Flyer" - Stephen Stills www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfkR0U2VnSs&feature=related

Another shot i found yesterday, actually there is still quite a few i never got around to uploading so im going to be uploading them as often as i can as i don't like wasting shots and letting them go to waste on my discdrive. This took a while to do as well as i didn't want to make the editing obvious, i only wish i had taken a change of clothes! I tell you what though, climbing that tree made me feel young again!

zu hause - home is, where ...

In early May I went out around my neighbourhood and "collected" a few treetops against a mix of blue sky and clouds that I found really appealing - I'd love to be able to identify these trees by name, but I can't. If you can, please do so in the comments, so I can tag them accordingly. Even without their names, I hope you enjoy them, too :)

Carcavelos - Portugal

You watch, as the world, and the trees die around you, and then, you see the world, and the trees, bloom again, you swing... and can almost touch the tree tops, it's a beautiful sight...isn't it.

just a poem and some photography.

I got my inspiration for this picture from m-illie. I hope you don't mind!

Kate and I were on our walk with Frankie, keeping our eye out for picture potential, when Kate remembered this lovely tree in the graveyard. I know it sounds sort of creepy, two girls and their dog walking in a graveyard for no reason. But it really is sort of fun, finding the silliest last names and scouring the place for the oldest gravestones.

I'm really liking the look of this expired film! So thanks again sol exposure!
