My first published work! In the Gallery pages of Metal Clay Artistis Magazine volume 2 Issue 2!

The Tree of Life is a 145-foot (44 m) sculpture of a baobab tree at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World Resort. With over 8,000 branches of very different sizes and about 102,000 artificial leaves, the sculpture debuted when the theme park opened on April 22, 1998.

The Tree of Life honors animals and the place they all share in the great Circle of Life. At 145 feet tall, the massive tree towers over the land. Marvel at its gnarled roots and outstretched branches, then step closer to see the shapes of over 300 animals carved into the tree.

The branches span 165 feet across and the trunk is 50 feet wide. There are more than 100,000 leaves on the tree. Twenty artists carved more than 320 animals into its trunk, branches and roots. Thousands worked on the Tree of Life, which took 18 months to construct.

Back on the road! I finished up Yesod last week and stitched it onto the Tree. There are still a lot of ends that need to be whipstitched and woven in (you can see several of them lying loose on that hexagon between Tifereth and Chesed), but the project is nearing completion!

The only place in Animal Kingdom where you can get Expedition Everest and the Tree of Life together.

See how disjointed the tree branches are? (What tree branches, I hear you ask) Well, that's what happens when you are holding the wrong color as dominant. Back to the drawing board. Oh well, I think I'd like it better with the colors reversed, anyway.

This reminds me of the tree of life that we saw in Disney Land. I don't know whose picture this is.

"Tree of Life" sculpture by Kristina Nichols, Hobart Royal Botanical Gardens, memorial dedicated to those affected by 'past adoption practices.' This symbol is a kind of 'logo' for the apology given by Tasmanian Premier Lara Giddens in 2012.
