This little guy ran off a Gray Squirrel twice his size through the canopy of trees behind my house. It was a sight to see. He was NOT about to share the nuts I put out.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It covers an area of 19,485 km2 in the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga in northeastern South Africa, and extends 360 km from north to south and 65 km from east to west. The administrative headquarters are in Skukuza. Areas of the park were first protected by the government of the South African Republic in 1898, and it became South Africa's first national park in 1926. To the west and south of the Kruger National Park are the two South African provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. In the north is Zimbabwe, and to the east is Mozambique. It is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Kruger National Park with the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique. The park is part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere an area designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an International Man and Biosphere Reserve (the "Biosphere"). The park has nine main gates allowing entrance to the different camps. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kruger_National_Park

One of the many red squirrels fighting for their territory. This particular one seemed to domintate the area. He/she was even brave enough to "threaten" me! it came up to 5 ft in front of me. Red squirrels are notorious for not being "bashfull" and rather cocky, if I say so myself. Cute little bugger, though.

Captured this close-up image of a little American Red Squirrel eating some seeds. Image taken against a snow background near the entrance of the Spruce Bog Boardwalk Trail in Algonquin Park (Ontario, Canada).

Tilapia Fillets in a Garlic Herb Butter Sauce with Rosemary, Garlic and Olive Oil potatoes and Sauteed Spinach with Sun-dried Tomatoes
It's been a very very very long time since I've cooked with white fish so I headed to Whole Foods last night with the intention of picking up some good white fish. The Tilapia looked really good (halibut was also on my mind) so I picked that up along with some potatoes and organic spinach.
It was the first time I had mounted a sauce with butter: the classic "mont au beurre" technique that's part of a cook's education. The tilapia was salt and peppered, sauteed in olive oil, garlic and herbs and mounted with butter and to thicken at the end, a little bit of flour. Topped off with fresh organic parsley.
The potatoes actually came in a frozen pack, I added olive oil when baking them.
Spinach was nice and fresh so I kept it sauce free and instead sauteed and infused some olive oil with sun-dried tomatoes and then added the spinach to finish.
Voila.
The only shot I could get of the presumably female squirrel who was sitting on top of our house roof, watching down upon the Japanese Maple tree. The other, presumably male squirrel was working his way up our Japanese Maple tree while fluffing his tail and calling out. Finally he made it to the end of a large branch and made the leap to the house roof to join her.
Squirrels are members of the family Sciuridae, consisting of small or medium-size rodents. The family includes tree squirrels, ground squirrels, chipmunks, marmots, flying squirrels, and prairie dogs.
Aka Eastern Grey Squirrel or simply Grey Squirrel. As shown here, some are not entirely grey. I spotted this one in Southport's Hesketh Park. Cute they may look but they are gradually pushing Britain's native Red Squirrels toward extinction.
I've never seen such a FAT tree squirrel! Someone put out some nuts for it on the fence post where it was dining casually. Huntington Central Park - West, California, 12 November 2017
Mr. Squirrel finally had his eyes locked in on a lovely lady who was sitting on top of our house roof watching down on him. Shortly after taking this picture, he ran on up the tree branch and made the leap to the roof, and they ran off together.

I was supposed to be on my way to work; this squirrel was the reason I was late!
Spring is just around the corner here. In fact, it feels like spring has already arrived!
I’m officially announcing Murders & Mysteries today (formerly the musical project known as Kremlin), a solo musical project I’ve been working off and on for the past few years but focused on in 2007. An EP release is coming soon. For now, a website and a Virb page with tracks to listen to.
The track "Antiloper" features The Girl™ on vocals, if you were curious who was singing on that.
Thanks to Andrew for looking into whether there were existing Kremlins, of which there are. Murders & Mysteries is a phrase I've used on and off over the years and the .com was available (as per Andrew's investigating) so here we are.
