The Kuan Yin Goddess of Mercy Pavilion (GPS: 5.39779, 100.27246) is a gargantuan pavilion at Kek Lok Si Temple, Penang. It shelters the gigantic statue of the Kuan Yin, or Goddess of Mercy of Mahayana Buddhism. The consecration of the pavilion was conducted on Sunday, 6 December, 2009. The date was chosen as it coincides with the 118th anniversary of the founding of Kek Lok Si Temple.
The Goddess of Mercy Pavilion is 82.7 meters tall, from its base to the tip, equivalent to the height of a 20-storey building. The roof is a three-tier pagoda supported by 16 granite pillars embellished with ornate carvings. Each of the pillars comprises 40 cylindrical blocks which are made of granite with a thickness of 45 centimeters. Each cylinder block has a circumference of 2.1 meters. The pavilion was built at a cost of RM40 million.
The present Kuan Yin statue is the second for Kek Lok Si Temple. The idea for a statue was initiated back in 1976. The first statue was completed in 1977 at the cost of RM1.8 million. However heavy rain and a fire which broke out in 1993 damaged it.
A new and taller statue was then constructed. The 30.2 meter tall statue was only completed at the end of 2002. Even there, the plan was already in place to built a structure over it.

Aerial view of a section of the coral barrier reef in the island of Bora Bora in French Polynesia.
Surrounding Bora Bora is a colorful, vibrant reef in such pristine condition that it puts other well-thought of reefs around the world to shame. This reef and its associated sea life are a magnet for snorkelers and scuba divers from across the globe.
Bora Bora has a coral reef of the barrier reef type, meaning it is separate and distinct from the local landmass. If the reef extended from the shoreline, it would be a fringing reef. In the case of Bora Bora, a deep lagoon--sometimes described as the most beautiful lagoon in the world--separates the landmass of the island from the barrier reef. Bora Bora is not an atoll, another common form of coral reef in French Polynesia. Coral heads, or outcroppings of coral, also grow inside the lagoon, but strictly speaking these are not reefs.

Patong beach is super busy all day. You will not be able to go here for a quiet day by the beach, but why would you want too.
However if you like people, You can choose to take your own towel and sit on the sand somewhere, rent a lounger which came with an umbrella and side table for 200BHT for as long as you want in public areas . There is a bar every 50 or so metres on the beach and the chair monitors will bring you whatever you need.

Devil's Valley lies high in the Caucasus Mountains, near the Jvari Pass. The valley is known for its raw beauty: steep mountains, deep gorges, fast-flowing rivers, and ancient watchtowers. In the past, it was a strategically important area, but also dangerous and difficult to traverse. It earned the nickname “Valley of the Devils” because invaders would often get lost, be ambushed, or simply never return—partly due to the fierce defense by the local population. Few tourists venture here; it feels like a hidden world. Especially outside the summer season, the valley is hard to access. Hikers and off-road adventurers love this kind of terrain, but it’s far from a typical day trip. One of the natural highlights of the area is the Eretos Waterfall. Cascading down a rocky cliff into a narrow gorge, the waterfall is tucked away between forested slopes. The sound of the falling water echoes through the valley, adding to the mysterious atmosphere of the region. It’s a place where nature takes center stage: wild, untouched, and barely marked by human presence. Visiting the waterfall feels like a reward for those willing to explore this rugged landscape.
Devil's Valley lies high in the Caucasus Mountains. The region is dramatic and mountainous, with panoramic views and an untamed character. It lies along the famous Georgian Military Highway, an ancient route that connects Tbilisi with Russia via the Jvari Pass. The landscape displays a mesmerizing contrast between snow-capped peaks and the golden autumn slopes, a characteristic feature of the region in late autumn. The deep blue sky emphasize the grandeur of the Caucasus, making this a truly awe-inspiring sight. Kanitha enjoying a view on the valley, with the impressive Caucasus mountains in the background.
Neuschwanstein Castle
King Ludwig II (also known as The Swan King and Mad King Ludwig), a Bavarian monarch, decided to follow in his father's footsteps and commission a castle that would restore glory to the location of a former castle.
He hired Christian Jank, a stage and set designer, to design a castle that would echo the courtly aesthetic of the old Teutonic knights.
The resulting castle, built by Eduard Riedel and Georg Dollmann, became more a fairy tale idea of a castle than a historical recreation, with an isolated, mountainous backdrop, soaring towers and elements that borrowed heavily from the Romanesque style of the 13th Century.
The castle was completed in 1892, making it far more modern than its design appears. Ludwig himself did not live to see the castle completed. Just weeks after his death in 1886, the castle was opened to the public.
As dawn breaks over Don Mueang International Airport, the terminal hums quietly with the energy of a new day. A Lion Air plane, its red and white livery catching the warm hues of sunrise, sits parked on the tarmac. Its engines are silent, but ground crew move with steady purpose—fuel lines connect to its wing, catering trucks unload supplies, and the aircraft is readied for its morning departure.
Early mornings at Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) in Bangkok offer a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere before the day's peak travel times. The airport typically experiences moderate crowds between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM due to multiple early departures. However, arriving during this window can still provide a smoother experience compared to later in the day.
Sleeping Options
Sleep Box by Miracle: Located in Terminal 2, offering sleep boxes for short rest periods.
Observation Deck: Above Terminal 2’s Departures level, quieter and darker, suitable for resting.
Couches: Available at Burger King (Terminal 2) and near closed restaurants in both terminals.
Soft Seats and Benches: Found in the Domestic Departures area of Terminal 1
The lobster trap was invented in 1808 by Ebenezer Thorndike of Swampscott, Massachusetts.
The entrances to the traps are designed to be one-way only. To entice the lobster, a piece of bait, often fish or chum, is placed inside the trap.
A long rope is attached to the trap, at the end of which is a plastic or styrofoam buoy, so the traps can be identified & pulled up & checked every other day or so. The traps are weighed down by bricks so when they are sent overboard, they will sink & settle on the sea floor.

Mama Daviti Church has undergone several renovations throughout the centuries. In addition to its religious significance, the church is also an important historical site as many famous Georgian figures are buried there. Penang Buddhist Association (GPS: 5.41523, 100.31762; Traditional/Simplified Chinese: 槟城佛学院) is a religious institution along Anson Road in George Town, Penang. It was founded by a group of Straits Chinese Buddhists who wanted to study Buddhism in its pure, uncorrupted form, untainted by elements of Taoism that is prevalent among the local Chinese. To achieve that, they founded the Penang Buddhist Association in 1925.
The Penang Buddhist Association building was completed in 1931 in the Late Straits Eclectic style. Its interior is ornately decorated with polished floor titles, multi-tiered chandeliars, and mother-of-pearl inlaid furnishing. The high-vaulted main hall houses several statues of the various Penang Buddhist Association 槟城佛学院, George Towneincarnation of Buddha.
The housing estate behind the association was developed by it in the 1930s, hence the roads bear Buddhist names such as Dharma, Deva Pada, Bodhi and Nirvana. In 1964, the association also established the Penang Buddhist Association Kindergarten, a well-established kindergarten today.
How to go to the Penang Buddhist Association
The Penang Buddhist Association is located along Anson Road, which is a one-way street. If you are coming from the direction of Komtar, take Macalister Road and then turn left into Anson Road. The association is on the right side of Anson Road across from Padang Brown. If you require public transport, you can take Rapid Penang Bus 102 which passes along Anson Road.

This is one of the first couple buttes could be seen right off US-163 before entering the Monument valley.
Compared to mesa and plateau, butte is a smaller geological formation. This is not the red rock buttes like the one inside monument valley, but I like the way it stands behind the human habitat so that gives a comparison between the size of it and houses built by human being.

The walls of the church are decorated with frescoes and icons depicting biblical scenes and saints, such as St. David Garejeli, after whom the church is named. The altar is located in the sanctuary, behind an iconostasis—a decorated wall of icons that separates the church space from the altar. This iconostasis is often richly detailed with religious images and gold accents, emphasizing the sacredness of the space. Visitors can light candles by the icons as a symbol of their prayers. The soft lighting, combined with the natural light coming through the windows, creates a serene, almost mystical atmosphere. The interior exudes simplicity, yet at the same time a sense of sacredness and tranquility, making it a spiritual place for locals and visitors alike.

The view from the landing at old Fulton Street in Brooklyn is a killer. We chose to tour Gili Trawangan in a cidomo or horse-drawn carriage. While we can always walk – Gili Trawangan is only about 3 km long and 2 km wide – the luxury of time is not on our side...
In 30 minutes, our roundabout was over. As we were too early for the 6:15 sunset (again, I always check the internet for this), we chilled out first with some icecream and pastries at the Ombak Bar.

Picture this: a bright green DoDublin open-top tour bus, proudly parked at the Dublin Bus stop in Phoenix Park, ready to whisk tourists away on a hop-on, hop-off adventure through the charming streets of Dublin. But today, this bus has some rather unusual passengers hitching a ride! A giant inflatable unicorn, a cheeky eggplant, a mischievous squirrel, and a pink pig are all hanging out near the iconic Wellington Monument, looking like they’ve just escaped from a parade—or perhaps the Dublin Zoo nearby decided to throw a costume party. The bus driver, unfazed by the quirky crew, is probably wondering if these characters have their tickets ready for the next stop at Temple Bar!
The DoDublin sightseeing tour is a tourist favorite, and for good reason. With its hop-on, hop-off flexibility, you can jump off to sip a pint at the Guinness Storehouse, explore the historic Trinity College, or snap a selfie at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, then hop back on to continue the journey. The open-top bus gives you the best views of Dublin’s vibrant streets, from the colorful Georgian doors to the bustling energy of Grafton Street. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned visitor, DoDublin’s lively commentary and iconic green buses make every ride a delight—though today’s passengers might be adding a bit more flair than usual!
Phoenix Park itself is a gem worth exploring, sprawling over 1,750 acres as one of the largest enclosed parks in any European capital. It’s home to the Dublin Zoo, where you can meet real animals (not just inflatable ones!), from roaring lions to playful penguins. The park also houses the elegant Áras an Uachtaráin, the residence of the President of Ireland, and the towering Wellington Monument, where our inflatable friends seem to be staging their impromptu photoshoot. With its rolling green fields and ancient deer herds, Phoenix Park is the perfect spot to stretch your legs—or your inflatable hooves—before hopping back on the DoDublin bus for more city adventures. Just don’t be surprised if the unicorn tries to claim the front seat!
The Irish Ferries Dublin Swift fastferry makes a low key return on its first sailing of the day from Holyhead to Dublin, following the slow boat Stena Line Estrid.
This sleek vessel leaves conventional ferries in its wake, offering a thrilling alternative for tourists and car passengers eager to beat the clock. With its modern design and swift journey, it’s no wonder this fastcraft has become a favorite for those looking to enjoy the scenic crossing with a bit of excitement thrown in!
Launched in 2001, the Dublin Swift was built by Incat Tasmania, known for crafting high-speed catamarans. This impressive ferry joined the Irish Ferries fleet to provide a quicker link between Ireland and Wales, boasting a top speed that makes it a standout on the route. Its origins reflect a blend of innovative engineering and a commitment to enhancing travel across the Irish Sea.
As for the blooming flowers in the foreground,, Gardeners World tells me this could be red valerian (Centranthus ruber), often found along coastal areas and adding a vibrant splash of color to the scene.
Blooming wonderful.

The sunlit rooftops of the tightly packed houses glow above a maze of steep alleys. To the left, the coastal road curves up toward the cemetery; to the right, cliffs drop steeply to the sea. A perfect harmony of nature, culture, and architecture.
The real beauty of spiti valley starts beyond Kunzum la pass towards losar then to Kaza, travelling to tabo and then towards Nakko or Kinnaur Valley.
