Oh man, for a good time, I recommend taking a 3 year-old to the holiday train show in Grand Central. Okay, adults too. The details are fantastic (such as the tiny house with its own train going around a track in the front window).

Circular Train in Yangon
A ride on the Circular Train will give you a unique perspective on daily life in the city and the area around it. The station is a grand British colonial building that combines Burmese architectural style with functional Western elements. On the three-hour trip, you'll see the scenery change from city to rural, and pass by ponds, villages and scenes of farm life.

Erie Terminal train station and office building located at 112 W. Commerce Street in Youngstown, Ohio. Designed by Paul Boucherle and constructed in 1924, this building is currently being renovated for student housing for Youngstown State University. The last trains to use this station were Erie Lackawana commuter trains to Cleveland which ceased operations in the early 1970's.
Most of the Metro trains I rode on this trip were packed. There were several events going on in DC today including a rally that supposedly drew 30,000 people. I got this moment of emptiness at the New Carrollton, MD station, which is at the far reaches of the Metro's jurisdiction and probably not a terribly popular station.
These trains are carpeted (carpeted!) and have cushioned seats.

Two Steam Trains face off each year at Steamfest in the NSW Hunter Valley. Sadly, I chose the wrong tracks, so the second steamer is on the far right of the frame. Never mind, I'm happy with this "Hero" shot. Even managed to get the Tiger Moth in.
