A string of empty grain hoppers in North Vancouver ready to be sent back to the Canadian prairies and reloaded with grain to again be shipped to terminal grain elevators on Canada's west coast for loading onto massive grain ships.
Grain cars such as these ones can take only a little over a week to return and each one carries between 80-100 tonnes of grain, and around 80-90% of the 60 million tonnes of Canadian grain being exported gets sent to Vancouver just like this, 24/7.

My little nephew Chase turned 2 last weekend and had a Thomas the Train party. My brother said minimal fondant so this is what he got! No matter... Chase had two slices and that is all that matters!

As a result of "Z" Type carriage bogies having cracks discovered in them, to make up the shortfall N car sets are being marshalled in either 3 or 4 and 5 car sets (and reportedly 6) made soley of N cars.

On March 7, 2008 at Livingston, MT the main line had just been reopened after nearly 48 hours closure because of a derailment 5 miles west of Helena. Trains were moving back and forth at a pace rarely seen on a line that is fairly busy already.
MRL SD70ACes 4312, 4315 & 4314 had just got into Livingston helping an eastbound BNSF manifest over the pass from Bozeman and now they have been cut into the middle of a westbound BNSF unit coal train and are headed back across the mountain.
