In a rare sight these days, three gray units smoke up the sky pulling hard across the I-10 bridge westbound through Houston. KCS 654, KCS 692, and an unidentified AC4400CW unit roll through town with two tarped locomotives bound for Mexico on the MSHMXJ train. Sadly, the SD40 units seen here are now gone off the roster.

D&H train 270 heads north/east near Cooperstown Junction, NY, on March 6, 1994. A short while later we came across train 262 at Bainbridge, and at some point, the trains came across each other, and swapped power. Dad and I turned around and chased 262 back east all the way to Mohawk, with GATX 2009 in the lead instead.

A welded rail train running as W014-19 heads north through Romulus behind a Slug and Mother combo. The train was headed for Grand Rapids to lay new rail on the GR Terminal Sub.

My friend and I thought it would be a good idea to climb on top of this old unused train in La Mesa in order to get a different perspective than that of the typical trolley LE shots. It was a lot higher up than it looks!

One of the perks of attending the Lexington Group meeting in Kansas City in October 2013 was a ride on the KCS business train from Kansas City Union Station to a wye at Amsterdam, Missouri, a distance of 62 miles. We left KC at about 09:30 and arrived back at about 13:00. It was a fun trip. KCS president Mike Haverty was along, and the company provided all sorts of food and drinks for the guests.
This image was made at 13:05, just a few minutes after we arrived back in Kansas City. This was a beautiful train, inside and out. You can't beat that KCS paint scheme.

Van 29 juli tot 6 augustus 2017, staat Amsterdam weer in het teken van de jaarlijkse Gaypride. Net als in 2014 en het jaar 2015 (in 2016 werd geen poging gewaagd.). Dit jaar kon de trein zelfs zonder tegenlicht worden gefotografeerd. En zo werd toch wat eerder van huis gegaan voor een dagje inkopen doen in Kleve, om eerst de opzich best fraai uitziende trein te fotograferen in Emmerich, waar het even later een aantal minuten stilstond.
Er werd gereden onder nummer 13486, wanneer het geheel onderweg was uit Möngengladbach naar onze hoofdstad.

The Corcovado Train (Portuguese: Trem do Corcovado) is a rack railway in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from Cosme Velho to the summit of the Corcovado Mountain at an altitude of 710 m (2,329 ft). The summit is known for its statue of Christ the Redeemer and its views over the city and beaches of Rio.
The line is 3.8 km (2.4 mi) long. It is a 1,000 mm gauge rack railway using the Riggenbach rack system. I took this shot over the shoulder of our driver as we passed a train descending from the mountain. The rolling stock was built by SLM of Winterthur in Switzerland.
There are four trains, each of two cars. Three of them are used simultaneously. The trip takes approximately 20 minutes and departs every 20 minutes, giving a capacity of 540 passengers per hour. Due to this limited capacity the wait at the entry station can be several hours.
The line has been ridden by many famous people, including Pope Pius XII, Pope John Paul II, Alberto Santos-Dumont, Albert Einstein, Diana, Princess of Wales and myself.
