I've been thinking about this spot for a while. I wanted the symmetry of the reflection and the energy of the train, but there were always too many people when the light was interesting. So I finally tightened up the framing and waited longer.

Amtrak 966 special passes the Port Henry station with the 108 50th anniversary locomotive. This will probably be the last special crew requalifying train as the "Adirondack" finally resumes service to Montreal after a three year hiatus.
This was the second train that came by. The second train came by only ten minutes later. The railroad line is owned by Norfolk Southern. Here is a video of this train. This locomotive is a C40-9W. I am using rrpicturearchives.net to know the type of locomotive. I'm still learning the different types of locomotives. This is a C40-9W.

Norfolk Southern C40-8 #8749 brings #055 south out of Atlanta, GA with a few Caterpillar loads bound for Savannah, GA for export. Another cool train that has unfortunately been discontinued.

An evening over Vauxhall as the trains pass by creating fantastic trails.
NS (LV) 8104 pulls a cut of empty coal hoppers after unloading them at the Glatfelter Paper Mill at Spring Grove, Pa. on 6-17-2017. This is only the third Heritage unit to get to Spring Grove to my knowledge.
WSOR trains L599 (Horicon to Ackerville and back) & L249 (Milwaukee to Ackerville and back) are swapping cars at Ackerville. The snow is gone, but temps are back down to 3 degrees with a very stiff wind.
On the head end of a long string of single-stacked well cars are 6 of the 24 specially-designed cars used to carry 150-ton segments of the reusable solid rocket boosters for the Space Shuttle. The boosters are accompanied by a coach carrying security personnel.
CSX will pass these cars to FEC at Bowden yard, who will transport them down to Titusville and hand them off to the NASA railroad at Jay-Jay Yard.
Note the nice SP GP60 leader and the crazy code-line to the left.
