Plus I did promise Maeve to shoot this hair without the headphones!
Noticed this grave (and some more) while driving around the Pigeon Lake area. Was not aware of the history of this grave... only after searching for his name did I come across this tragic story... I did notice (kind of made me notice it beside the gravel road) the many pieces of memorabilia on his grave.
Pigeon Lake is one of the most intensely used recreational areas in Alberta, with 10 summer villages, 4 unincorporated Communities, including Pigeon Lake Indian Reserve 138A and over 2,300 private cottages along its shores.

A pair of ancient Greek theatre masks reflect the ups & downs (joys & sorrows) of our human lives . Also called the Sock & Buskin as an actor in a tragic role wore a type of boot (buskin) to elevate him above the other actors who only wore socks on their feet. Grapes on the comedy mask suggest the joyful influence of wine & the horns for devilish fun !!
Be a bit of a devil & look at my masks album .
Aww, Megumin's staff broke and she's beside herself. It's going to be tough to repair such a slender, delicate staff. She may be able to cast her explosion spells without a staff but it will cramp her theatrical style.
This sailboat was tied up to the rocks so it could be rescued and taken out of the way of other marine traffic.
I feel for the owner and his loss.

Taken at the police cordon at the scene of the helicopter crash into Clutha Vaults in Glasgow, Scotland. Reporters who are so often thought of as 'vultures' but do a job that brings us the reality of life and death in this world.
Ok so maybe the title has nothing to do with this shot ;)
It was a grand exit from the slot canyon and the last abseil before the boulder field. Opening up a bit at this point the falls cascade down into a beautiful pool surrounded by large ferns. A nice place for a dip...well maybe if it wasn't so cold and we weren't as pressed for time.
We were happy with our progress down through the abseils. We moved consistantly the whole way yet managed to take time enough to enjoy the sights. And for this once my photography wasn't dragging the chain.
Overall I think I was happy with the photo's given the time restrictions and the fact that towards the end I had to force the lens manually to be in focus.
Now to "The boulder field". Still surrounded by high walls but much more open we headed off down stream to the next leg of the journey.

Most of you have no doubt heard of the tragedy which struck the Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Junior Hockey team, the Humboldt Broncos. It has had a profound effect on the national psyche of Canada, a self-defined, hockey obsessed nation. People here, eat, sleep, breathe hockey. So, to have a tragedy of this proportion strike the hockey team of a small Saskatchewan town, it has truly impacted the entire country. This, in just a very small, insignificant way, is meant to honour those who died in the bus crash, those who survived, but whose bodies have been irrevocably altered, and those who survived, but who will live with this event in their hearts and minds till the very end.
Not only was the Easter Bunny passed over...he was run over, relieving him of his duties, among other things.

Often when you look at the Greek ladies, you see a face full of tragedy.
I saw this lady coming down the hill with her son, they stopped at the local kafeneon. He went in, she sat and stared...
The portrait was taken, with her permission, I waited till she had 'forgotten' about me, looked at her and was patient, I knew exactly what I wanted!

When I came upon these guys I couldn't believe my eyes. These two men were sprawled out on the sidewalk in front of the very theater where Lincoln was shot, high af on something strong, and unable to wake up or move. We have to help the homeless, people with addiction, and people with mental health problems better in this country. This is unacceptable.
