The abandoned Go-Kart track on the seafront at Felixstowe, Suffolk (UK). Once frequented by children racing kart's I guess its fallen on hard times during the recession and become derelict. Its such a shame. Added bleach bypass treatment for effect
Our granddaughter, Alyssa, (black uniform) has had a tough track season as she suffered an injury during preseason practice. With track season about over, she ran the 1600m for only the 2nd time all season today and we were able to be there to cheer her on. She placed 5th and ran her personal best. We are so proud of her efforts for hanging in there when it would have been so easy to give up early on in the season. Way to go, Alyssa!
It looks quite rural here, but these tracks are in Kennesaw, Georgia, a bustling suburb of Atlanta.

Started as just going out picture taking. Then I thought of the poem while walking these tracks. Then I added me. I don't know why. I don't like being in pictures. No one else to add. There was a time I used to write poems all the time. Lately not so much.
Series of shots taken of the tracks at Helensville, last weekend. Experimenting with my new 50mm f1.8.

Caterpillar tracks work on the same principle as a conveyor belt. The tank engine rotates one or more steel sprockets, which move a track made up of hundreds of metal links. The tank's wheels ride along the moving track, just like the wheels in a car run along the road.

Think of the long trip home.
