Early morning tracks

A bit of history was uncovered during the improvement of U.S. 40 (National Road) on Richmond, Indiana's west side. These tracks were likely part of the Interurban line that ran along the National Road between Richmond and Indianapolis. They will be removed as part of improvement project.

One from a couple of months ago. That would be my honey walking down the tracks, not some hobo. :)

A railway track panel that is ready to be installed on the locomotive parking spur track in Canadian National Railway's small Material Yard in Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Fernleigh Track , Newcastle and Hunter region.

The Fernleigh Track is for walkers and bicycle riders. It follows

the course of a railway track built in the 1880s , to carry coal to Newcastle. Features of the track are the 180 metre long tunnel and the bushland corridor it follows for much of the way. I have ridden various parts of the track , but finally completed the 22kms from Adamstown to Swansea and back. Pizza for lunch was great. Swansea is a lakeside suburb on the edge of the largest saltwater coastal lake, Lake Macquarie, in NSW.

Walking along the train tracks on the edge of Green Lake offered some great scenery and a nice spot to dip our hot feet in the cold, alpine waters.

Abandoned railway tracks beneath the Cambridge cycle bridge.

These are freight tracks embedded in the street, not trolley tracks. They are standard gauge, whereas all trolley tracks in Philly are broad gauge. Another clue that these are freight tracks and not trolley tracks is the switch: the point is missing, but if this were trolley tracks, there would be no switch point on this side; only on the other side of the track. (See note above.)

Back in the era of film camera you'd take a picture like this and might not be sure if you're timing was good enought to get that Test Track car zoomed by, obviously mine was not, Peter really enjoyed this attraction.
