Today is the big day of the Solar Eclipse that will be visible across a wide path of North America. At the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), there were numerous events. The beautiful weather and the fact that the next one will be in this area some twenty years from now brought many people about. The eclipse in Ann Arbor was almost a total one, around 98% coverage of the sun. For totality, you had to go to Ohio. It was nice to participate in an activity that we all experienced at the same time. When the eclipse was at its greatest coverage of the sun, there were cheers in the Law Quad.
