As you go through the next few photos, do keep an eye out on the prominences at both the 6- and 3-o'clock positions (south and east, respectively).
Within the 4-min of totality, you can observe their eruptions. The one at 6 o'clock is so bright that it can be seen with the naked eyes! The prominence eruption at 3 o'clock is of a lesser intensity.
On this very overcast day in Western New York we, those at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park, were incredibly blessed to have a thinning of clouds during the entirety of Totality. Words cannot express the amazing experience - but whoops, shouts and plenty of OMG were heard throughout the crowd of a few hundred gathered on the sledding hill.

Shot using Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED (72/420mm), field flattener and Sony A7 III (ISO100, 1/8000 for beads and 1/5000 for totality) on a Sky-Watcher Adventurer tracker.

I used the Fringer EF-GFX Pro adapter to join the Fujifilm GFX to Canon EF 100-400mm L USM II. It gives autofocus to the Canon EF lens!

shot at 500mm with a 200-500 lens; ran the image through Gigapixel AI to magnify the prominence detail, which also enhanced some other aspects of the image
Viewing the Solar Eclipse in Salem, NH with my co-workers. My company made special t-shirts for the event. Music and snacks and free solar glasses made it a memorable event!
I brought a few homemade viewers to use since I didn't have the right solar filter for my camera. My cereal box viewer was great. But my favorite photo was of the shadows of the crescent as it was filtered through the tree branches onto a white plastic picnic table!

As we left the apartment to head down to the waterfront on Total Eclipse Day 2024, we observed this beautiful full solar ring. Luckily the clouds would remain thin allowing us to witness totality later in the day.
