Ryburn Reservoir
Moss growing in the wall tops at the side of the footpath along the edge of the reservoir. It’s around about this spot only 18 months ago, when the water was so low we were able to walk out onto the dried up earth to add stones to a cairn which had been built there. With all the recent rain the water is overflowing the dam, so this is about as high as the level can get.

The tops of three lenticular clouds are visible above and behind the bank of cumulus at sunrise. Also, the large rounded top of a orographic/lenticular emerges out of the cumulus below it. I thought this was a rather amazing, unique and fascinating combination of cloud formations.
Taken as I climbed Bennachie, right is Tap O Noth , Northern Aberdeenshire's other hill, with Ben Rinnes in Moray beyond.

This was seen from a car park and caught my eye , quite a conglomeration of antenna stuck on the roofs in Ashtead , no idea what they all do but certainly making the most of this location . All the same , they do make a shot and stand out against the blue sky - that was thick grey and cloudy when I first arrived .
One of my very favorite neon signs in San Francisco, now gone and the diner it advertised closed . The place opened in 1935 and was just a block away from my office, it used to be a regular breakfast and lunch spot for me. Sadly closed a few weeks ago during the pandemic and the beautiful sign was taken down. Glad I thought to take a photo about two years ago. 2020 has really been a rotten year.
Poppies are some of my favourite flowers. These are annual ones and I always cur the tops off and save seed for next year. These have been in a little dish collecting dust so maybe I need to either cap them up, WRAP them up or sow them!
The snowbound Flat Tops Wilderness provide the backdrop, BNSF provides the loaded oil train. BNSF ran this train from Grand Junction - Denver in 9 hours and was the only train aside from Amtrak in those 267 miles the entire time. BNSF orange and black looks better here anyways.
