Macro shot of a swan feather with the beautiful down tops waving to the mirror.
I placed it in the harsh light and this is the outcome !!
Its a lovely little hill, smackbang in the middle of the Goyt valley, shame we couldn't see much this morning, but then we cannot always have nice weather....maybe it will clear later!.
The Smile on Saturday theme for today, 8/14, is “flat lay”. It will probably come as no surprise to those who know me that I decided to use the tops/lids of some of the teapots in my collection. Of course, now I have to match them with the right teapots!
It's wonderful how the sun can light up the whole tree line in one minute and then let the shadows pass over only to come back and rim the tops of the trees in gold.
This is a rework tonight of a shot I posted about a month ago.
I think the original crop was a bit severe. I also think I have brought the colours and tones in the picture out better in this version.
Its a view across to the Pentland Hills at Sunset. I was drawn to the tops being sideline by the setting sun almost like an alpine glow you get on mountains!
Golden evening light touching the tops of the surrounding mountings. Ballachulish Hotel view. Scotland West Coast.
This is a low resolution 100dpi watermarked upload. For the original large file please contact Terry Eve Photography through Flickr mail.
Looking over the tops at Whitehaven on the Cumbrian coast and out over the Irish sea on a beautiful day in May, the coast line you can just see on the horizon is Scotland , this is one of our Cumbrian coastal walks.
A vibrant display of wine bottles at the Adelaide Central Market. I had recently reconnected with my friend from way back in my childhood days in Malaysia, and she was visiting me in Australia. She really loved the market!
For the Macro Monday challenge "High key" (December 14th 2020)
Three miniature vintage glass bottles. Shot with uniform, surround lighting to give no shadows and a 'flat' light effect.
The base shown is just 3cm across (size guide in the first comment field)

"Doubly happy, however, is the man to whom lofty mountain tops are within reach."
- John Muir
“I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—air, mountains, trees, I thought, "This is what it is to be happy.”
A visit to Scar Tops Shopping Experience , near Haworth . We had a coffee on the verandah and this was the view , what more could you ask for ? In this photo is a walker on the Bronte Way , she is dressed in blue .
Fire damage is starting to fade in this section of the Smoky Mountains devastated a few years earlier when some individuals thought it would be fun to hike to the top and shoot off fireworks.

Isaiah 17:13 “But he will put a stop to them, and make them go in flight far away, driving them like the waste of the grain on the tops of the mountains before the wind, and like the circling dust before the storm.”
Arctic Mountains across the bay from Longyearbyen, Norway, the farthest north metropolitan community in the world. 800 miles north of the Arctic Circle.
This was taken at 36,000ft heading west over Austria during some extremely powerful storms. We diverted our course to the south (left) to stay clear of them as the tops of the thunderstorms went up beyond 40,000ft. In the foreground is a towering cumulus, the precursor to a cumulonimbus, one of which can be seen in the background with the flat top.

Happy Monochrome Bokeh Thursday ;o)
One from the archives, taken at Leith Hall gardens on a windy October day. I had no idea what it was I'd shot, and I've finally realised it is the remains of clematis flower heads! This year I bought more clematis plants, and some of the varieties produce these curling mop tops ... so at last I know!
Hope you had fun with Halloween - it was quiet here and too cold for many of the young ones to be out in the dark. So we had a welcome, restful evening after a manic start to the week.
