As I haven't had much time to do anything these days, I have been going through some of my old photos taken with my old Canon Rebel camera., hence my latest trend of posting dated photos.

Augustus 10 years ago, but he still looks well today.

My artsy pink roses by Marie Brown Cottage Garden

I applied texture, French Kiss Watercolor Splash, a border, and an impression Topaz filter to create an artsy view of my pink roses. My sweet sister spotted these in Walmart, took a shot, and text'd me to see if I could use them for my art. LOVE THAT GIRL! The grocery store has doubled or maybe it is tripled the price of flowers this week. Glad Walmart didn't do that.

Here in the UK today, Sunday 22 March, it's Mothering Sunday; the strangest one ever for all mothers in the country. We all usually all go out for lunch - today my children & grandchildren left my presents outside my front door and we spoke to one another through the (closed) window; the practise of social distancing.

This artwork is from some of the flowers I received.

Ah well - I've plenty of chocolates to keep me going!

Ruby-topaz Hummingbird by Thelma Gátuzzô

Chrysolampis mosquitus - Male - Small hummingbird with a rather large range across northeastern South America and eastern Panama. Male is unmistakable with a golden throat, a ruby-red crown, and an orange tail with dark tips. Female is trickier to identify, but note the pale gray underparts, white-tipped tail feathers, and dull grayish green upperpars. The short and slightly decurved bill should also help identify the female. Fairly common in open habitats, including savannah, forest edge, and gardens. ebird.org/species/ruthum1
