From 1971 to 1988, these little buggers were a staple in the life of Melbourne teens...
Put out by legendary Melbourne radio station 3XY, the face side featured a popular artist, the reverse side featured a list of the week's most popular singles and albums. They were free in every suburban record barn; most of us would grab a handful each time we went in....
Over the last couple of years, I've managed to get around 90% of them - not bad, given that they were a throwaway item which few people kept! I've also amassed a thousand or so doubles, which I'll whack up on eBay when I get around to it...
"Hey Miss Lady!" was born in Newark, New Jersey and had a song written about him as a parody of "Rock Me Amadeus" by the Austrian performer Falco. Beloved in France.
"Jerry Lewis goes from bed to nurse in the Disorderly Orderly"
"Don't reveal the surprise middle"
Not the most dignified and restrained performer in history, he has had a profound influence on the behavoir of most members of the current US Congress and State Legislatures. His unique talent is best displayed in:
"Who's Minding the Store" - saw it about 50 years ago and did not walk out
"The Bellboy" - filmed at the "Fabulous Fontebleau Hotel" in Miami
"The Disorderly Orderly" - Jerry's response to overhearing the woman outside the hospital describing her "weak kidneys" is the all-time high of sophisticated adult humor
"Geisha Boy" - the tidal wave at the Japanese bath is a highlight
Little known factoidette about Jerry:
Both Jery Lewis and Aretha Franklin hit the Top 40 charts with the same song! -- "Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody". And Jerry outdid Aretha!! Jerry went to #10 in 1956 while Aretha only scored #37 in 1961!!! For both of them it was their first charted song. For Jerry it was also the last. {source: Joel Whitburn "Top 40 Hits" First Printing 1989, page 552}. But neither matched the #1 chart position for the song by Al Jolson in 1918.
His sons's group, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, had several Top 10 hits in the 1960's. They were produced by Snuff Garrett, who later produced recordings by Cher.

December 2016 visiting Glasgow I popped into one of the City's better music stores, they had a massive vinyl collection of LPs just like the old days , surprisingly the vinyl albums on sale for £15 on average whereas the CDs retailed for around £9.99, and they say digital downloads are the future , guess there must be plenty of true die hard music fans around .

Pop superstar Rihanna came to Vancouver BC to play Rogers Arena.
I have to admit, after photographing similar pop stars like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, and Janelle Monae at the Arena recently, I wasn't terribly excited about this show.
For one, the standard is that photographers have to shoot from the soundboard, which is miles away from the front of the stage, where I want to shoot from. And secondly, those aforementioned shows are all about the jumbotrons and lightshows; the performers are lip synching bores.
But Rihanna is a different story. Whether or not you agree with how she flaunts her body, the girl knows how to perform. For the 3 songs we shot, she worked the stage non stop. The variety of shots she provided for us, considering we were all standing still, was a delight.
