I had to try getting the tripod out ... Not easy with my old tripod and a lens that wants to creep forward but I used a bit of painters tape and my camera has a swivel LED screen so I got it to work though I doubt if I will do it often. The photo was edited in LR tweaking kk_DayDreaming.

The famous neon sign of the Tip Top Tap atop the Allerton Hotel in Chicago's Magnificent Mile still glows into the night. The Mad Men era bar is now a ballroom, but the hotel has been given a renovation. This was a reflection in the windows nearby taken from the top of our hotel, the MileNorth Hotel on East Superior Street.

Looking out the windows from the top tier of a cell block inside an abandoned maximum security prison. The prison operated for over 60 years until finally being shutdown due to numerous controversial incidents & mistreatment of inmates. The prison was purchased several years after its closing with the intention of major renovations & re-purposing it however no actual renovations took place. Recently the property was put back on the market so maybe there will be some new hope for the beauty old building!

If you are a fly, losing a wing can be pretty bad. It's probably what enabled these two red mites (who I've nicknamed Maverick & Goose) to get a good hold.
Still this tiny fly was quite sprightly, and was scurrying up and down the blades of grass without too many problems. Not sure how long it would have lasted though...

A colourful set of rear end helpers at Belmont, top of Crawford Hill, on a heavy coal train from Powder River which had split into two about 30 minutes earlier on the approach to the summit due to defective coupling which was quickly sorted by a man with a large hammer ! The approach to the disused tunnel is on the left. 8 April 2005.
I was expecting to experiment this top down angle approach a while ago, but I never really took the change to do it. Few weeks ago I finally got the opportunity. Shooting exclusively in the street is always challenging, especially when we are looking to bring something totally different from what we are use to create (I'm not talking about subject). I was lucky to find a bridge with a kind of geometric ground then I just needed to wait people to come into my frame.
