This is my Christmas present for this year from my wife. I finally have a real tool chest for the garage. I can hardly wait to get all of Grandpa's tools organized in it!
I built this box last night as a way of developing my understanding of a traditional Japanese tool box. It's just balsa wood: not really serious woodworking at all. But the more often I build these projects, the easier it is to think in three dimensions. And the easier it is to build these boxes again in full size, full-weight materials.
All of this is training for the Kavad, of course.
Jocko Toolbox is at my right, and every day it's on my case to produce more.
So each day I look at my writtings tucked away.
Definitely will be # 1 on the bookshelves or on the Internet!
With the exception of the chain whip, stuff I don't get down to very often. Did'ja know you had an extra 9 speed chain down in the bottom of the box?
An old outboard motor fuel tank turned into a toolbox. Tank was cut open and the baffle cut out. A block off plate was made to cover the opening for the fuel draw, and a more attractive gas cap was modified to fit.
This is my toolbox at work. A sloppy mess huh? I loaded this just for the fun of it. Add your own notes if you like.
