On a short walk from the car we had views south down the coast from our city. Today it is cloudy and boring too.
I guess the egret thought I got too close and flew away. The geese didn't give a damn.
Alviso, California.
Great question for many of us when it comes to the final crop
Yes I did get the entire Owl in frame (inc. wings)
& Yes he was extremely close
But also 'yes' we've uploaded countless 'fly-by' Short Eared Owl shots recently
So an unconventionally close crop to create something
different
Good idea?
Bad idea?
There's no right answer
In the end it was just 'my idea'

Of the three recent misty shots I took, I like this one the most. Mainly because I had to "work" for it a little more. The first two were taken down by the sea when I saw this scene developing across the bay. Sadly some trees were blocking my view of the line of misty trees so had to walk/trott back up the hill to my home and then find another view point. Wasn't too sure the mist would stay for the 5 minutes I was half-jogging. Lucky for me it did. This shot was taken about one hour after sunset. Living in the north at this time of year it doesn't really get dark after sunset. Though I am glad I don't live further north with the sun being up 24 hours a day. Think I'd go nuts with that lol!
The other reason I like this shot is that jetty features in one of my all-time favourite shots, though from a completely different angle, seen below in the first comment.

I walked through the door with you
The air was cold
But something about it felt like home somehow
And I, left my scarf there at your sister's house
And you've still got it in your drawer even now

Back just in time for Fall - hi, everyone!

Here's a before
The heads of these roses were too big to take the weight of the raindrops, they were laying on the railway sleepers.

Along the western coast of Italy sit five cities collectively known as the Cinque Terra in Italian. Corniglia is one of them. Tourist traffic is not permitted so the only access is by rail which shuttles back and forth between the cities and along the rugged Italian coast. We visited 10 years ago and I still remember the quaint beauty of this part of Italy.
Once again take liberties with the scene using Photoshop to create a double track. I love to play. So, can you tell me the correct time this photo was taken?

This, too, is from my favorite rose garden, Point Defiance Park, located in Tacoma, Washington. Such a beautiful rose garden! Actually, the whole park is worth seeing, if you never have! There's a zoo and aquarium; a five-mile drive that overlooks Puget Sound and Tacoma's Narrows Bridge; a beach and boating area; not only the rose garden, but many other flowers as well including the rhododendron garden when it's in bloom; the duck pond as well as many other wildlife including eagles, deer, and raccoons; and lastly, miles of trails to choose from for your hiking pleasure! So you see, this park includes it all--definitely something worth adding to your bucket list! Hope you all enjoy!

There are too many steps in this castle, and it seems to me they add a few every night, just to vex me
George R.R. Martin,
This, too, is from our own personal garden. It's my husband that has the green thumb! He just loves making his garden just shine! These Clematis were so big and beautiful, I couldn't resist grabbing a few pics! Hope you enjoy!
