Maybe David Cameron or Gordon Brown should take a propper little walk through Chatham. Its gully down here.
This time with out the barriers! It's very difficult to photograph this with out all the traffic lights and posts, as they move into different and equally inconvient locations when I move!
The entire, or at least the biggest part of this frontage was taken down and rebuilt, which is unusual for Bradford!
The traffic lights are working, but they seem to act like a tv when seen through the camera, and in this case they appear out. In the last photo I believe it looks like only one is working! :-)
A close up look at the vacant shops in the Pitman Chambers
Door on the left used to be for MinZu. The door on the right is for the upper offices of the Pitman Building.
Despite signs welcoming a new restaurant opening soon. How long will the place be empty?

Eketahuna is a small, friendly country town with a population of only around 600 people. The peaceful rural atmosphere makes for a great place to live and is only about 30 minutes drive away from Masterton.

The old building on the left is to let.

At the Hobart Model Makers and Collectors Convention.
Six years in the making, this was another well appointed working model. This one , when you opened the door to the head, you could actually push the lever on the water cistern and hear the tolet flushing.

In need of a house to rent? Please call Mrs. Zhu. This is the front gate of an old residence in the Ming dynasty village of Zhujiayu, tucked in a hilly green valley between Jinan and Zibo in China's Shandong Province. The village's name Zhujiayu (朱家峪) literally means 'Zhu family's valley'. This landlord's family has must have belonged to this village since it first existed - somewhere from between 1368 to 1644. So this landlord's family may have been here for seven hundred years, or up to ten generations!
One of many fine, low mileage large offices in our town. It seems we are better at building them than keeping them filled...
Nothing to do with economic downturn, this one's been deserted for years.
Wonder who the lucky tenant is?
Lovely day today - not weather-wise, that was pretty rubbish! But we had a good one anyway. We went to the remembrance event down the road - pleasantly amazed to see so many people in attendance; really quite moving. We then carried on to the seafront (spotted this scene on the way), and had a coffee in the theatre cafe. Then a walk along Capstone Parade and to the harbour - where we stopped in for lunch at Toast on the Coast. Really lovely cafe and staff, and delicious lunch. Carried on to the far point of the harbour after that, and then headed back up the hill to home.
Our neighbour Sandi was putting out the recycling when we got back, and we ended up chatting to her, and then to Lee, too, for probably a half hour or so. Got in and had a much needed cuppa, and a super relaxing afternoon and evening. Lovely.
There was something about the symmetrical shadow.
