Post: GIMP: Curves. Today I discovered how to do a somewhat superior method of doing color balance using each (RGB) channel of Curves.
Edit (2008-12-28): Looking again at the timestamps (and the lack of haze), this was actually a sunrise. But the current title ("Sunset on Vesuvius") sounds better, so I'm leaving it unchanged.
