Our Maker Art class created a Time Machine this year, inviting you to travel through time from the age of dinosaurs to the 50th century.
Our 4th and 5th graders at the Lycée Français designed their own scenes from the past, present or future, and brought them to life with motion, lights and sounds. They also worked in teams to build interactive features like illuminated keypads, spinners and doors, using the popular Arduino platform.
In our after-school classes, we combine art, technology and storytelling to help children create their own magical worlds. They learn to design their ideas, build them with a variety of tools, animate them with electronics and tell their stories. This unique multimedia course helps them develop their creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills -- and builds their confidence that they can help change the world.
This year, we had a really good group of 9 students, ages 8 to 11 -- many of whom had taken our Maker Art classes before. They were very creative and engaged, and did a great job presenting their work at the Lycée Français -- and at Marinovators at the College of Marin on April 22.
This Maker Art class was taught by Fabrice Florin and Edward Janne at the Lycée Français in Sausalito in winter 2017. We met every week for 12 workshops of 90 minutes each, Thursdays at 3:30pm, from January 5 to March 30, 2017. Our teachers are part of the Tam Makers learning community and we prepared materials for this project in our state-of-the-art makerspace at the nearby Tam High School.

This was the letter I received when I won a T-shirt and tickets to an air show I couldn't possibly attend.
Despite the dire predictions of 16+ hrs, I tihink it took an hour or so to restore 150GB :) Was so glad that I'd taken that backup.
Amazing service at the Apple store. Took it in Sat lunch, was seen within an hour without an appt, then got a phonecall Sun eve to say it was ready! Picked it up Mon eve. Was brilliant. Well done Apple.
New HDD, new HDD Controller (which they think is the cause of the crashes) and new keyboard (coz my E key came off). Very shiny.

Hopped into my Time Machine and dialed it back to May 1930, Rochester, NY, for the Lilac Festival. My hometown of Rochester is the Lilac City. My backyard was filled with purple and white lilac bushes and trees. There is no smell quite as fresh and lovely as the lilac. I hooked a ride in a motorcar and caught a glimpse of the two Lilac Queens on Clinton Avenue before heading to Highland Park. Despite the rain, it was a glorious day and the girls with their bouquets were beaming.
I sat down to do this 15 minutes ago, pressed the 'forwards' button (centre right) and accelerated to now. I'll be returning in a mo and in another 14 mins will be amazed that a new picture has appeared seemingly without my help, assuming of course that the theory of memory time-reversion is correct.

Happy with the first real, session using the Mumford Time Machine water drop kit. As I continue to delve into all aspects of water and the characteristics it displays when forces are placed on it I am continually surprised.
I first started to record on microcassette tapes at the age of six.
A few weeks ago, I got them back. Tapes from the age of 6 to the age of 12.
Now they are being archived and converted to digital.
It's strange to be able to go right back to the time I was a certain age. I recorded the tapes when I was little because I thought they'd make great time machines for my future self to go back and see my past self with.
Measuring time. That's what windmills are for isn't it?
If not, why else do they have those big hands that turn around?
