version could be a louder player with

slightly higher tension on the top.

im not sure if im ready to tighten

the bracket hooks any further, though.

a resonator (back) is still an option

too... perhaps a nice sheet of

My new Flip Video camera arrived today and I was wondering how to break it in. And what better than another video of me cooking dinner.

I've been fancying risotto for a couple of days, so this evening I rummaged through the fridge to see what I could use. So, here we have chicken and red pepper risotto. Fifty-six minutes of preparation and cooking condensed into 90 seconds.

My first attempt at this kind of thing - the result of a couple of hours (and a couple of beers) on the hill at Alexandra Palace. I'm a bit disappointed at the way autoexposure kicked in once the sun went down, and made it seem like the sky wasn't getting any darker at all, but I suppose I'll need to do a bit more experimentation before I get it right...

Five neonatal kittens were found sealed up in a box on Staten Island a few days ago. Their eyes were still closed and one died. The woman who found them didn't have the experience or time to take care of them but thanks to the efforts of Elena who does TNR on the island, they were saved and delivered to me in Brooklyn to bottle raise.

Highlights of Miss Pie from MegaDogs Memorial Day NADAC trial, 2008.

Pie and I had a lousy weekend. I ran her on Day 1 of the trial and we had one Q, and lots of non-Q 1st places. We ended the day with two awful runs- 1 where she was having so much fun barking at the start line that she refused to start the run, and another where they did a speaker test right next to us and Pie tucked tail and ran off the course. They let us try to rerun, but Pie was too frightened to do anything.

Day 2 David did almost all of the running, because my knees wouldn't let me run. She did better, especially with her focus, but she was still too slow for any Qs. (Lots of first place ribbons again though.)

Our new agility goal for Pie is to bring up her drive, so we're doing a lot of flatwork with her.

There wasn't much wind... so we had to improvise.

Yes yes, I realise I probably jinxed him by deciding to film this at-bat. Hoping he hits 499 and 500 at tomorrow's game.

A bit later in the evening than my previous video, and shot at a higher resolution - wish I'd used a tripod though. I can't quite believe the Neon Tower has gone, but apparently it is for refurbishment, so that's good.

My new compact camera has a handy little time lapse feature.

I am a pretty slow eater. Actually – no – it just depends on how hungry I am and what it is I am eating. Some foods obviously take a bit more effort. When I sit down to eat my dinner at home, I get all proper oriental about it am sort of kneel to eat. Even if I'm sitting on a chair. And yes – that's four big Lincolnshire sausages there, with home-made mash. I can't quite make Yorkshire puddings though, so it's Aunt Bessie for the win.

Just to give you a sense of time, it actually took me a little over 10 minutes to eat up my dinner.

There are viewing areas below water level as well as above the sea lion area at the zoo that give nice views of the movement of these animals.

My first 720p HD time lapse with the Ricoh GX100 camera - a shot every 5 seconds, infinity focus mode, aperture priority, daylight white balance. The built-in intervalometer was the main reason I bought this camera.

Total shooting time: 1h 24m

I'm really happy with the consistent exposures the Ricoh produces which lead to minimal flickering. My Canon Pro1's exposure system is far less stable over hundreds of shots meaning the sequences have to be deflickered.

Mini highlights: the CalMac ferry arriving on the right, a very speedy fishing boat (which had loads of seagulls trailing it) and lastly a little yacht coming into port.

Music: The Haggis by Capercaillie from their Crosswinds album.

Thanks to newfangled technology, you can now watch boring videos like this on flickr. Hurrah!

This is one of my most precious memories of all times : sitting in one of the best pittabars in Bethlehem, a very pretty little town on the westbank, together with two of the most amazing musicians: Michael Weilacher and François Deppe, both connected to Music Fund . I was following them for the radio on their trip through Israël and the Palestinian Territories, where they were giving masterclasses to students of all kind.

While we were having the most delicious food, they started clapping a Steve Reich composition. Just like that.

Watch the guys in the back. Listen to Lucas Pairon, not in sight, who says: "meanwhile I'm just finishing the food" Look at the concentrated faces of François Deppe and Michael Weilacher. It's not an easy composition, because everytime they have to leave out one bar (or a part of it, I'm not sure). And I love the end, which shows the playfullness of "serious" musicians like François and Michael.

it's magic. It's fun. And strangely enough, I happen to have it on video...
