New post of the Alpha male from the wolf den of last summer.
So far, I have had no luck in finding more than wolf tracks this winter, but it is not for lack of trying.

Alpha male patrolling den area. A large male black bear had been threatening the den on a prior day.

May I introduce the majestic Deodar Cedar.
This tree is native to the Himalayas where it can grow up to 250' tall.
In Sanskrit, Deodar translates to "timber of the gods," hence, the title of this piece.
It was introduced to Europe in 1822 and to the United States circa 1830.
The Deodar is a favorite for landscapes because of it's impressive size and weepy branches. Sometimes, the lower branches can even be seen crawling across the ground.
See comments for a few other shots.
