During a conference call hosted by the Republican Governor's Association Thursday night, a caller asked whether states could invoke the 10th Amendment to the Constitution to stop President Obama's health care reform plan.
Pawlenty's reply:
"Depending on what the federal government comes out with here, asserting the 10th Amendment may be a viable option..."

Just like the stimulus program when so many Republican blowhard governors kept saying their state would refuse stimulus money.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- A handful of Republican governors are considering turning down some money from the federal stimulus package.
Though none has outright rejected the money available for education, health care and infrastructure, the governors of Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alaska, South Carolina and Idaho have all questioned whether the $787 billion bill signed into law this week will even help the economy.

Every state has received stimulus money so far. A few notables...
Texas....................$ 3.7 million (Perry)
Mississippi..........$ 566,000 (Barbour)
Louisiana.............$ 705,000 (Jindal)
Alaska...................$ 180,000 (Palin - at the time)
South Carolina....$ 831,000 (Sanford)
Idaho.....................$ 300,000 (Otter)
and,
Minnesota.............$ 1.5 million (Pawlenty)
In fact each of these states will receive much more money from the stimulus program. About 20-30 % of the stimulus money has been released so far.

I am quite simply devastated by today's news of the sudden death of Tim Russert!!! He, along with Tom Brokaw, was my TV journalistic hero! One of the highlights of my every week, for years, has been watching Tim's "Meet The Press" program on NBC.
Sure going to miss you, Tim!!!

282 high school students (and one or two teachers at the back) were in attendance, I am told, at my lecture on the Cultural Psychology of Horror and Tourism, at Yumenavi Live in Osaka last Saturday. How do you ruin a red TIms Official camera? Paint it Black!!!! I bought this black Tims Camera on eBay. I was upgrading the box as it has both end flaps which I had never seen before. I thought the camera had been lost and replaced with a Black Rainbow Hawk-Eye. Well I was wrong. Someone actually painted the red camera black!
