California winter morning Sunday. A coffee, an amaryllis, and a good friend.

Tim is a co-worker of mine. He was really worried about doing this 5K - he wasn't sure he could make it that distance - he had lost about 50 pounds last year. He made it fine, this is within a quarter mile of the finish line, it took him about 45 minutes but he made it.

World Champion Freerunner Tim Shieff popped into BBC Nottingham and showed off his awesome free running skills ahead of the world championships.

I met Tim in a stacked moving van.

Tim's originally from Punjab, India. He's been in the United States, though, since the late 1980s and his accent hardly places him from there.

However, his ring and silver bracelet did, and that's why I got to talking to him. I have a similar silver bracelet that I picked up in Pinjory, India.

Anyway, Tim was foreman on the moving van crew that packed up (and then unpacked) my house for our move. I was amazed at the puzzle-doer strategy that he used to pack the van so well.

Superb.

I wanted to do Tim's portrait right where I met him. In front of his puzzle.

My pal Tim Graham posed for me in The Plain Dealer studio as I was checking my lighting setup Thursday evening. You see a normal Tim then ... "surprised Tim," "angry Tim," and "anal-probed Tim."

Tim is my work twin because people are always getting us mixed up. Once I asked for a cheeseburger in the PD Cafe, and the cook yelled, "I just made you one!" Sure enough, I came back to the newsroom to see Tim polishing off a burger.
