India trip, day 5: the tiger got closer before walking off into long grass beside a lake. You can see the radio collar clearly in this shot. It was a magnificent animal.

Bandhavgarh National Park was the former hunting preserve of the Maharaja of Rewa and at present is a famous natural hub for White Tigers. White Tigers, now a major attraction around the world's zoos, were first discovered in Rewa, not far from here. The terrain is broken, with rocky hill ranges, running roughly east west, interspersed with grassy swamps and forested valleys
There was another tiger behind a closed door roaring constantly and this female was responding in kind.

She was born between Batu ♂ and Ratna ♀ at the Chessington Zoo in the UK on the 14th of September 2006. Her sister, Bayu is @ Yagiyama Zoo in Sendai, Japan.
This was a tiger that I saw in Sichuan, China. They kept the lions in the area, and we drove in buses to see them. It was the closest thing I've ever gotten to a safari!
