Where once many a railway staff member would have sat - issuing tickets and watching trains pass...
Now only the ghost of many station masters past remain, waiting for that midnight train...
Perhaps one day, from the ashes, new station masters will once again watch!

These plants seem to have first row season tickets to watch the serene sunset at the salt lake of Larnaka, day in and day out.....

In lovely "Write Me a Ticket Red" too...:::sighs and shakes her head::: He's happy so I am. :::whispers::: And it's a really sharp car too. hehe

On Wednesday 6th September 2017 i was lucky enough to be treated to a Fish & Chip supper on the World Famous Flying Scotsman from a couple of really good friends, when they found out this engine was visiting their town of Watchet in Somerset they booked the tickets for this event, I never thought in my wildest dreams I would get a ride behind the most famous steam engine in the world, the engine was there all week so I had plenty of time to photograph it.
Extreme security measures protect the ticket window at Kyaikhto station on the line from Yangon to Mawlamyine, formerly Moulmein.
It seems there were three trains a day each way, but for pricing, you have to understand Burmese “bubble writing”.

The National Lottery in Thailand is drawn twice a month, but has now been suspended until May 15th due to the pandemic much to the ire of the street vendors who have now been put out of a job.
Today's story and sketch by me # 1237 E-Ticket, you see Deputy Doodick, who will attempt to explain to the shuttle pilot and his passengers they are not at Disneyland, which was their intended destination when they purchased the deluxe vacation travel package from Slangoos Intergalactic Travel Agency on the Planet Origunn. The Pilot did everything correctly, until he or she took off from Origunn, entered worm hole nine. Which should have put the shuttle into an Earth Orbit about a week ago, instead they were shot through the darkness of deep space to this Tropical Volcanic Planet Budahunga. Which has become a very popular spot almost from the day the first member of the MCPPOTG, Man Cave Posse Protectors Of The Galaxy where kidnapped, hijacked or just unlucky to be redirected here. It will be interesting to find out what kind of talents this new group will have. It seems when the population of Budahunga grows, and we find we don't have some being with a required talent, that talented cook, boot maker of what Rescue Randy thinks we could use, mysteriously arrives within days. Just yesterday at the morning deputy meeting, Chairman Rescue Randy, the most interesting living tissue crash test dummy in the Galaxy mentioned he would like New Fire, Acid, Laser, and explosion resistant, stylish sport coats for the ever growing team of Deputies. But that and the talents this new group bring to the Planet will have to be a story for another time, until then TaTa the Rod Blog.

Ticket to ride
I think I'm gonna be sad,
I think it's today, yeah.
The girl that's driving me mad
Is going away.
She's got a ticket to ride,
She's got a ticket to ride,
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
She said that living with me
Was bringing her down yeah.
She would never be free
When I was around.
She's got a ticket to ride,
She's got a ticket to ride,
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
I don't know why she's ridin' so high,
She ought to think twice,
She ought to do right by me.
Before she gets to saying goodbye,
She ought to think twice,
She ought to do right by me.
I think I'm gonna be sad,
I think it's today yeah.
The girl that's driving me mad
Is going away, yeah.
She's got a ticket to ride,
She's got a ticket to ride,
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
I don't know why she's ridin' so high,
She ought to think twice,
She ought to do right by me.
Before she gets to saying goodbye,
She ought to think twice,
She ought to do right by me
.
She heard that living with me,
Was bringing her down, yeah.
She would never be free
When I was around.
Ah, she's got a ticket to ride,
She's got a ticket to ride,
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
My baby don't care, my baby don't care.
My baby don't care, my baby don't care.

An unrecorded Class 170 diesel multiple unit pauses at Chepstow station with 2G48, the 09:06 Cardiff Central to Gloucester service on Monday 3rd April 2023. I quote from RTT: "This service was cancelled between Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa due to a fault with lineside cabling".
A sign on display at Chepstow that I saw today (October 2023) indicates that the ticket office at this station should continue to operate regardless of the government's plans to close most other such facilities throughout neighbouring England. That is because the ticket office here is independently run, although I've no idea quite how that works in practice.
