Red Snake.
The front covers of this book are covered in a cherry red paper embossed and printed to look like snakeskin. It's got the smooth, sleek feel of snakeskin, but is vegan-friendly. The interior covers are a thick, cottony white paper with red polkadots.
The textblock is made from 60lb, bright white drawing paper. The paper has a good amount of tooth and can handle ink, pencil and many other media.
- 6.25" x 6.25" square. (15cm x 15cm)
- 200 pages.
- Bound with cherry red waxed Irish linen thread.
The exposed spine sewing allows this book to open completely flat, for ease of use.
This is a Thread Waisted Wasp, so named because of its very thin abdomen. Individuals in this species live by themselves, not in colonies. They feed on spiders and insects, pinching their necks with their strong jaws, and stinging them, which causes paralysis.
The victim's body is then placed in a mud cell and the wasp lays an egg upon it. The hatching baby wasps then feed upon this store. The clip was shot beside a waterfall, which accounts for the sound and the foam passing by in the background. If you click on the four-little-arrows full-screen icon in the bottom right corner of the window you will see the wasp much better!

Looking down at the linen threads attached to each yellow dacron necking cord, to the white cotton warp threads below. Note how some cords hold more than one thread, which slant diagonally across-- this creates a mirror image of the pattern in the cloth, doubling the width.
Threads for Somalia Fashion Show was presented by Ka Joog and Mohamed Hersi on October 29th, 2011 at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis. Photo by Poet Nation.
This collection of threads is inspired by Bonnie & Camille's "Vintage Modern" Collection. I love their trademark aqua/red/grey combo teamed with the girly florals and gorgeous print coordinates. As soon as this was released I snapped up a layer cake, and I'm so tempted to sign up to The Fat Quarter Shop's 2012 Designer Mystery BOM because it's using "Vintage Modern" - so in love!

Same basic components as all machines - from the spool on top run the thread through the top guide (notched hole on the top of the side plate), then down between the tension disks, up to the take-up lever (passing behind the guide bar) then back down to the needle (passing behind the guide bar again).
Also, because the bobbin is to the side, your needle has to be side-facing, too. On machines where the bobbin loads in front of the presser feet, the needle's eye will always face the front.
Thread Catcher created from a wool skirt, wool roving, and fleece. Needle felted and then wet felted shaped over a juice glass to dry. Decorative stitching using DMC floss and seed beads.
Looking a lot better now, especially with the seatbelts in place.
Upholstery shop that did the front seat did it so that the buckles couldn't thread through the back of the seat. Go figure.

Willimantic, CT
One of four 11' tall bronze frogs that sit atop giant concrete spools of thread that decorate the four corners of the Thread Street Crossing bridge. The motif celebrates Willimantic's history as a major manufacturer and exporter of thread as well as paying homage to a local legend, the Frog Fight. This was a harrowing night in 1754 when townspeople rushed outside with their muskets to defend themselves from an unseen screeching menace. The next morning, they discovered scores of dead frogs, who had fought for the last remaining puddles of water in a drought-stricken lake.
A look down a row of metal eyelets that make up a rope fence. A closeup of the end tie-off to this fence is elsewhere on my stream.

Starting to get desperate now looking for brightly coloured things around the house!
Desperation shot of buttons.
I had a nice weekend. I took a class in landscape quilts at my local quilt shop. Here are some of the threads I got together to take with.
I threaded the end of the bowden tube first by forcing an m7 nut over it, and then with a 1/4 x 20 die.
I wanted to use the m7 nut solution, but it compressed the tube too much for the PLA to move through it.
My 1/4 x 20 die was crappy, so it cut crappy thread. It worked much better with some PLA inside the tubing than when I was trying without. I don't have any 1/4" rod lying about- that probably would have worked better.
