YO Delicious!! Come View this Large (haha, thanks Jill)
Today I had off work so I decided to head down to Elmwood with Spencer and Clarence. Hopefully to hang out with Jill too, and we did. haha
So the story behind this one... I wanted to shoot someone today and Spencer offered to be the model. We were walking down the street and there's this bench outside Urban Threads made out of two snowboards. Ironically Spencer injured his knee last week snowboarding, so this portrait was so fitting.
Strobist Info: [I wanted to try the type of lighting I dissected a few weeks ago.] B800 into Beauty Dish with Sock camera high left, 430EX bare camera far left, 430EXII bare camera far right. triggered via Cybersyncs.
This photo is on a postcard from Lee Mathews Workroom. Similar to the storage units I use to store my threads in the studio.

I have soo many crazy creative ideas but thanks to the people I live them I can only execute them if Im alone or im my room. So I glitter my face and shoulders, tied thread around my head, did my makeup :) got to love purple mascara, and stole Geoffs lamp lol.
Iv been feeling odd. I want to do more but Im not exactly sure just how to do it. Im bored of where I am right now in my life, time for some change and excitement lol.

Part of the ongoing 'Thread Drawing' series, which is based on ideas around codes and lost languages - I wanted them to look like some sort of writing that you couldn't quite decode.
Cursive is made from red thread through stretched painter's canvas. I don't think of these as embroideries, to me they're very much drawings.
The shadows in this and the companion piece 'Mnemonic' were very important to me: under strong lighting the pieces change completely and become much more alive.
You can find out more about my art on my website.
Threads made this way are much, much finer than those made with an extruder. My entry for the "ugly hands" contest.
UP Switcher uses side track out of Argo Yard to build a train, crossing Lucile Street in Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood. The track threads its way between a city park and retail buildings, then comes to a dead end about 1/4 mile south.
At an auction I found a big bag full of colour coordinated sewing threads. Of course, I had to get them because of the wonderful colour combos!

Oil Cloth thread Basket - approx. 2"T x 9 1/2" W x 2 1/2" D
Oil cloth exterior & interior purchased from CityCraft www.citycraftonline.com/
My thread is stored by type in plastic shoe boxes on a shelf inside a cabinet. This "basket" is the perfect size to sort my threads by color within each shoe box (ie this one holds all my red/pink polyester threads).
Used this tutorial - ayumills.blogspot.com/2011/10/12-gifts-of-christmas-blog-... but didn't add any batting or interfacing - the two layers of oil cloth provided enough rigidity for this purpose.
Such a cute, quick, easy & practical project.

Odessa - Oekraïne - Ukraine
Poster on the wall of the museum of the catacomb.
Odessa (Oekraïens: Одеса, [oˈdɛsɑ], Russisch: Одесса, [ɐˈdʲesːə]; Jiddisch: אדעס, Ades; Grieks: Οδησσός) is een havenstad in Oekraïne aan de Zwarte Zee.
