Lucky if you are at the right moment at the right place. Thisis a traditional japanese wedding at the Meiji Jingu Shrine, probably of a quite wealthy family. In front two temple aids, behind them the groom and bride, both in traditional japanese marriage clothes. Behind them we see the parents, proably from the broom first. As usual, guys are always in suit and women in Kimono.

Last winter I shot 4x5 nearly every weekend morning. I found places across the city that went mostly unphotographed. I didn't shoot Pike Market or the Space Needle, there's no gum wall or Fremont Troll. I've got all of those things before.

With thisI wanted to show the city as the locals see it. Or at least, how I was seeing it. Many of these places were new to me, too.

As you may be aware in some places around the glob trans rights or even or existence is under threat.

We kind of expect it in some countries of the middle east even if it seems all their menfolk seem to be very attracted to us, We know Russia hates the very earth we walk on.

But when what we call civilized western countries start to erode or rights we have to sit up and take notice. The USA is getting more anti trans even with a change of president, Hungary Poland are the twice as bad and they are part of the EU and even they have no power to stop it. The UK is walking down the same path but for me a really worrying development is the amount of conflict on the issue north of our boarder in a little place called Scotland.

Over the past few weeks we have the LGB Alliance take out newspaper adds openly attacking us, it seems like what I already and that is some gay men lesbian women don't like us because for the gays why would a man want to be a woman and for lesbians we are still men. the Bi addition is just joke for those people just want a relationship with whatever and who ever and don't really fit into the LG groupings but make good allies.

The green party has had a high profile member leave because he feels freedom of speech has been taken away because he cannot speakout against trans people and gets shut down and the same is going on within the SNP and god only knows what the conservatives are up to?

The the thing is, it seems that a high number of people in Scotland want to cancel us out, take away our rights, stop us from transitioning and if we do stop us having any kind of life with limited job protection and next to no protection from assault or verbal abuse. even the basics of being able to use a lavatory are in question.

Now Scotland is a small place and most people are good people but the anti trans band wagon is gaining momentum and lots of people are jumping aboard.

If these people were being so vocal against coloured people they would be called right wing, fascist's, Nazis, But because its mainly white people against white people its not seen that way! and add into the mix that the cause is also being used safeguard females from dangerous men namely us. of course most guys are going to support that argument for they can be seen as the great protectors.

Basically if thisis happening in Scotland a normally very tolerant place. then we should start to be very carful and make sure when we vote we vote for the party that will protect us and not who you would traditionally vote for.

This is a very real concern now with every day another story coming out aimed at attacking us.

Sorry for the political rant but we cannot bury our heads in the sand for we might end up being buried under it.

By the way the Scottish people are good people and i hope they send the right message to those in power just as i hope we all do in our own countries.

A what a delight the Antwerp 'De Lijn'. tram system is. It's extensive, relatively fast, dependable and charming. We used it frequently during our last Antwerp stay. Shot on the Kon. Astridplein, right in front of our hotel.

This is me. One week away from moving in to university; one month away from turning nineteen; one year away from no longer being a teenager; one decade away from heaven knows what.

We took a few days off and drove up to wine country, not just Napa but everything from Sonorma County to Napa to Sonoma. We're not wine drinkers. Okay, I take that back: I'm not a wine drinker, but my wife is ... but not to the poiint where either of us could spell "Ferrugenious." Thisi s the second time in four years that - according to our calendars - we should be able to see one, and that we did. The only problem was that this hawk would fly from one high tension wire to the next, and while I'm in better shape than I have been in some time, but I don't have the stamina to chase a hawk. Besides, there's actually a law in California about harassing birds of prey. I ran into that with the Red-shouldered Hawk and a ranger...

Anyway, when we could get off a shot of this Ferrugenious Hawk, the stinker loved to land on poles that said "High Volatge" in larger signs/print than the bird. I finally got tired to getting tired, and cropped the sign out. The only other Ferrugenious Hawk I have is shooting into the sun at Oxbow Bend in the Tetons, and I now officially claim that it is not meant to be, and that the powers that be don't want me to get a decent shot of this hawk. That means that when I least expect it, there will be a Ferrugenious Hawk on a post with the sun to my back when I'm looking for some sort of warbler, and so it goes.

Thisis a lily that is by our garage. My wife likes these orange ones - I was just fascinated when checking them out with a magnifying glass. This is taken with a D2x + 60mm Macro + PK11a PK12, PK13 tube extenders.

This Wedding Cake has gone as hand luggage to Montreal and will then go by road to Vermont for the wedding!

The sugarpaste lilies are arranged as a copy of the bouquet the bride will carry.

The cherry blossom and "little fat birds" round the sides were requested by the bride ... they are a copy of her favourite Japanese picture. The colours were purposely kept very pale to match the wedding colour scheme of coffee, chocolate and very pale pink.

Note: I'm not mocking this guy I found sleeping under the tree near church premises. I don't know what he does for a living. I just saw it as a great photo opportunity. This post isn't personally denegrating this fellow, but only as an example in general.

The Bible doesn't condone lazybones ( I'm not talking about this guy, but to many across the board as there are people who are lazy, although they can work ,they like the easy way by being dependent on others.We all have to work with all honesty at heart. Paul the apostle work at the same time during his ministry of the gospel of Christ and wasn't dependent of what other people can give to him or from the church people for his food.

" For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." 2 Thessalonian 3:10

I do noticed some Christians do make their own ministries online particular in YouTube and asking for donations . I am not saying about the Christian researchers as they invested time to bring about facts, they are NOT what I am talking about.

There's one I've come across who made a particular video , declaring her plea for more donations since her ministry has saved souls and blessed people. What ? This person is a stay at home mom. You can claim you saved people . In the first place it's the Holy Spirit that convicts people's hearts, not a ministry or taking back God's glory to ones own. A ministry to save souls is only a tool spreading the word.

This persona has already had 45 people making donations worldwide and she's encouraging many to donate out thousand plus subscribers.

Personally, I can't see the reason to donate .God help me if I am wrong. Thisis my take: If she didn't evangelize outside, or have hired workers for Jesus to spread the gospel or rent a building, miscellaneous expenses to cover external work etc. example as in a registered church ,then why does she ask for donations .Why should she ask money from people if everything was done at leisure of her home ... all I could see was she just reads news headlines associated to end times prophecies ? God supplies our needs but we are not expected to just sit around and wait for manna falling from heaven or beg people. In my understanding, it's like saying :

" I just feel so lazy to go out find a job, I just like doing Jesus' end time videos, it's God's work , please give me your money who are blessed and saved from my videos."

I do feel that's wrong , especially declaring it clearly, it feels like begging food in the name of Jesus. Can't Jesus supply this particular Christian's needs? It's making money out of the name of Jesus, which to me is not right. My spirit grieves with people calling themselves Christians making money out of God's name. You think that's credible service to God ?

I am not making judgements but discernments. Since I am not a member of any church, neither I do attend church service every Sunday, I fall into no church membership. I am not promoting my status, a church ( not a building but fellowship of Christians helped us grow spiritually), I just didn't find a suitable church for me. But being a christian, I give money offering to God through other means, directly to the poor or helping the vulnerable group of people. I don't give to registered charities, as I knew big slice of those donations will go to administration services down the line and I do believe only smaller fraction reaches directly to those people in need . I am not convicted to donate through them. I am not saying either it's wrong to donate on registered Charities. Personally, I follow my heart's convictions. I have seen many destitute citizens back in my own village / town, that's where my heart goes.

Services given to the Lord should be free ( not through making Jesus videos in YouTube channels and asking for donations). God will reward services given to Him whole heartedly. No one should make business and profit using the name of God !

I pray these type of Christians would realize and be convicted to the truth of what they doing through the power of the name of Jesus !

She, too, does photography. And she's pretty dang awesome at it! I've only come to know Katy recently, and this was the first proper day we hung out. Already it feels like I've known her for years, and I hope it stays that way :)

We went out in the snow before going home and chilling with a hot chocolate. I filmed her and Charlotte doing a cover of 'Yellow' by Coldplay. You can watch it here.
