This case contains States that either I or someelse may have visted and they bring back for me. Plus places that I have seen, Small town thimble I call them.

San Francisco's first Obscura Day was a great time. We started out at the Musee Mechanique, traveled to an Art Deco Bathhouse at the Aquatic Park and ended up at the Clock of the Long Now. Sound pretty obscure? I elucidate it all here:

The Thimbles are an archipelago of 100 to 365 islands, depending on whether you count small rocks, reefs, ledges and sandbars that surface at low tide, off Branford, east of New Haven. The largest, Horse Island, owned by the Peabody Museum of Natural History at Yale University, is 17 acres. They look like chunks of coastal Maine — with pink granite bases and lush covers of hardwoods, pines and thickets — that have somehow ended up in Long Island Sound.

Their name, most locals agree, derives from the thimbleberry, a type of black raspberry, that used to grow on them in abundance.

According to legend, raspberries were originally white. The nymph, Ida, pricked her finger while picking berries for the crying infant, Jupiter, and raspberries have since been tinged red with her blood.

Japanese thimble 'YUBINUKI'

(it's the one in the box.) (well at least now I have a special thimble box I guess.)

the size chart that I referred to was wrong--it had 3-9 twice and I didn't notice. I should have figured that what I needed is 5-7.

thimble sizes make no sense and might as well be completely arbitrary.

The owner found out after he bought this island that it was too small to build a home on. The town let him build a gazebo. With the gas grill he's got in there, he can have some mighty fine cook outs! (the island, grill included!)
