Watercolor and Gouache on paper
Each piece measures 22"x30"
This was my breakthrough piece with watercolor. I tried to incorporate three major ideas on how humans came to be where we are, with the piece being composed after Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" to signify creationism, the monkey on the left with the evolving cells, mushrooms (which some argue is the reason we gained intelligence) in the monkey's hand, and the layout of evolution etched into the tree branch to signify the idea of evolution, and finally the idea of aliens placing us on earth and empowering us, with that such idea engraved into the bottom of the alien's ship.
P.S. (Sorry about the poor photo quality, will update with newer/nicer photo when I get this piece back from the art department)

We had a great time last night! In total we had approximately 125 people join us on a flow basis, I personally like these smaller events better because I get to spend more time with everyone! I met people from DSM (Biofuels), Nordex & Goldwind (wind turbine OEM’s), GreenWheels (Electric Car Dealership), MicroSun (Battery Storage), Chicago Streetcar Renaissance (name speaks for itself), and tons more...just in one event. Additionally I was personally impressed by Dan Fedor's ability to manage the setup and break-down of the event, even in Darrin Stern's absence! Thanks Dan! Everyone I spoke with last night was really happy about the turnout; we designed this event to be just a meet-and-greet- no big speeches and no big speakers. What do you want to see more of (or less of?)? Let us know.
