Das Tieranatomische Theater der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin ist das älteste noch erhaltene akademische Lehrgebäude Berlins. Nach einer umfangreichen Sanierung wird es seit 2012 als Ausstellungsraum und für Veranstaltungen genutzt.
Das frühklassizistische Gebäude wurde 1789/90 von Carl Gotthard Langhans, dessen bedeutendstes Bauwerk das Brandenburger Tor ist, erbaut. Dabei verwendete er für den Kuppelbau erstmals eine später publizierte Bohlenbinderkonstruktion. Durch die glasgedeckte Öffnung der Kuppel dringt ausreichend Tageslicht. Der Maler Christian Bernhard Rode schmückte die Wände zwischen den Fenstern an der Kuppelbasis mit Darstellungen von Landleuten und Tieren in Grisaille-Malerei.

The Veterinary Anatomy Theatre of Humboldt University in Berlin is the oldest surviving academic teaching building in Berlin. Following extensive renovations, it has been used as an exhibition space and for events since 2012.
The early Neoclassical building was constructed in 1789/90 by Carl Gotthard Langhans, whose most important work is the Brandenburg Gate. He used a plank truss construction method for the dome, a technique that was later published. Sufficient daylight enters through the glass-covered opening in the dome. The painter Christian Bernhard Rode decorated the walls between the windows at the base of the dome with grisaille paintings of peasants and animals.

Die konkrete Ausgestaltung des Entwurfs und die Bauausführung erfolgten durch Paul Böhm, den Sohn Gottfried Böhms. Das neue Hans Otto Theater wurde am 22. September 2006 offiziell eröffnet.

Found this mural painted on the entrance overhang of an old movie theater in downtown Sunnyvale, California. Looks much better in B&W than the original pale orange.
Lovely little town, with a wonderful old hotel that has been restored with marvelous care and consideration. If you ever get over that way, please stay there.
Hadrian's Villa comprised about 30 structures spread over a square kilometer or about 250 acres. The maritime theater is called a villa within a villa and was a private get away for the emperor.
One structure in the villa is the so-called "Maritime Theatre". It consists of a round portico with a barrel vault supported by pillars. Inside the portico was a ring-shaped pool with a central island. The large circular enclosure 40 metres (130 ft) in diameter has an entrance to the north. Inside the outer wall and surrounding the moat are a ring of unfluted Ionic columns. The Maritime Theater includes a lounge, a library, heated baths, three suites with heated floors, washbasin, an art gallery, and a large fountain During the ancient times, the island was connected to the portico by two wooden drawbridges. On the island sits a small domus, complete with an atrium, a library, a triclinium, and small baths. The area was probably used by the emperor as a retreat from the busy life at the court.[Wikipedia]
Het Chassé Theater is een groot theater in de binnenstad van Breda, naast de oude Kloosterkazerne. Het theater is vernoemd naar de legerofficier David Hendrik Chassé. Het is gehuisvest in een modern gebouw met een opvallend golvend dak naar een ontwerp van Herman Hertzberger, dat uit 1995 dateert. Het theater bestaat uit drie theaterzalen, drie filmzalen en drie restaurants. Het theater ontvangt jaarlijks zo'n 400.000 bezoekers. Voorloper van het Chassé Theater was de Stadsschouwburg Concordia.

The Southern Theater was constructed in 1912-13 and was used both as a movie theater and live performance venue.
The architect was George Dieringer of Wheeling. The rectangular two-story
flat-roofed masonry building has a three-story fly loft and sits on a sandstone block foundation. The masonry walls
are faced with blond brick in the theater block and red brick at the fly loft, except for the eastern elevation of the fly
loft, which is concrete. The building features a pressed metal cornice, with egg and dart molding and ornate metal
brackets, which returns along the side elevations. The area above the cornice has been faced with vertical metal
siding. This area originally featured a parapet wall with center half-round arch and finials at the front fa ade. The
front (eastern) fa ade is symmetrical with five bays at the first story and seven bays at the second story. Tooled
sandstone blocks sit atop a sandstone water table that returns for one bay along the northern elevation. Yellow brick
is used decoratively at the front elevation. A soldier course of blond brick lined by yellow stretcher brick visually
divides the first and second stories. Two small gargoyles are located at the upper level near the cornice.

One of the most striking buildings in Batumi is the Summer Theater. The wooden facade features large round windows as well as cascading geometric patterns in alternating lighter and darker finishes with carved ornamentation. Inside, the ceiling over the orchestra is painted to mirror the sky. The stunning theater is the place to be during summer festivals, when the town becomes a veritable stomping ground for theater and dance troupes from around the world.
