"When Moses broke the Tables..."
Inspired by "Tábua" , a Fernanda Fonseca's comic strip.
Boards listing The Ten Commandments. Such boards were used to remind the congregation of religious texts and prayers such as the Apostles' Creed and the Lord's Prayer.
The site has been used for Christian worship from the 8th Century; in the 11th Century a large minster was constructed of which, no trace remains. The current church dates from the 12th Century, with the separate tower added in the 13th; there are seven Herefordshire churches with separate towers, used as fortifications against Welsh border raiders. Restoration and improvement work has continued over the centuries, the latest being the addition of unobtrusive solar roof panels invisible from the ground.
In the front yard of a building on Second St., NW (I think.) I guess it helps to remind themselves daily?
Our movie friend, Alien, from the movie Alien, lands on Earth and foolishly picks a fight with Moses.
It's another faux ViewMaster reel: seven 3D images of Alien vs. Moses. Good vs. Evil. Who will survive?
Coming soon!

The Mural Society contributes to the beauty of our town and helps preserve our colorful history. 42 murals grace the sides of buildings around town and even the trash containers have color and style.

Madame Henrietta Manita Diaz arrived today from New York for her Easter Break.
Elegant, beautiful and nicely shaved, Angelica made MUZZ Diaz welcome straight away.
Muzz Diaz`s trunks were very heavy!
Two exhibits at the Dune Center are of particular note. Items pictured here relate to Cecil B. DeMille's epic, The Ten Commandments which was filmed in the dunes. After completion of filming, DeMille ordered all the sets buried in the sands where most still lay.
Other revelation was about a group of people who set up an art colony in the 1940's who called themselves the "Dunites".
...and what's it got me? I mean really...

I wish I'd gotten this sermon when I was ten..."In short, he tells us, don't swallow your moral code in tablet form."
Most of us have seen Raiders of the Lost Ark with Indiana Jones and the Nazis digging lots of holes in the sands of Egypt. Well, most Ethiopians believe that the Ark of the Covenant has resided in Ethiopia since about one or two generations after the time of Solomon. Whatever they have, it is here, in Aksum. Most people will never get to lay eyes directly on the alleged Ark, although a replica is paraded through the streets at important religious times. The front building is where it is, but the room there is leaking, and the new building at the back will be ready soon. Whether it is the genuine article or not, the mystery and controversy is all part of the charm that is Aksum.
