When you're all alone and lonely, in your midnight hour and you find that your soul it has been up for sale and you're getting to think about all the things that you done. And you're getting to hate just about everything. But remember the princess who lived on the hill, who loved you even though she knew you was wrong. And right now she just might come shining through... Glory of love.

You know, man, when I was a young man in high school, you believe in or not, that I wanted to play football for the coach. And all those older guys they said that he was mean and cruel but you know. I wanted to play football, for the coach. They said I was a little too lightweight to play lineback and so I'm playing right-end. Wanted to play football for the coach... fordecouuususshh
Turtles are unable to regulate their body temperatures independently, so they are completely dependent on the temperature of their environment. For this reason, they need to sunbathe frequently to warm themselves and maintain their body temperatures.
The red-eared slider gets its name from the small, red stripe around its ears, or where its ears would be, and from its ability to slide quickly off rocks and logs into the water.
Red-eared sliders are native to the Southern United States and northern Mexico, but have become established in other places because of pet releases, and have become an invasive species in many areas where they outcompete native species.
The carapace of this species can reach more than 40 cm (16 in) in length, but the typical length ranges from 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in). The females of the species are usually larger than the males. They typically live between 20 and 30 years.

...There is a freedom more precious than the world. Infinitely more precious than life and the world is that moment when one is alone with God.” Rumi
Summer's end
This species provides an example of sex role reversal with the females being more brightly coloured than the males. Females will also choose a male and then defend him against other females and when the chicks have arrived, the female scarpers and the male raises them on his own.
Thank you for taking a look at my images
There are some people who are bought into this world to be bigger than life. They’re born to change the pendulum and challenge what others aren’t prepared to face.
In a single image it’s hard to appreciate how big the facia of Glacier Grey is. In comparison to the world around it, the striking blue ice stands out as a giant, with a purpose and a place. As the years go on it’ll slowly disappear into history - to be taught in classrooms and remembered only in photos but in it’s prime it is simply spectacular.
Yesterday we lost a hero, someone who single handily changed history. They’re gone now and will only be remembered in the photos but in their prime they were simply spectacular.

During sunset, a cloud flew in in an amazing shape (a bird, a dragon, and maybe an angel ...)
A little understanding of the physics of cloud formation underscores the complexity of the atmosphere and sheds light on why predicting weather for more than a few days is such a challenge.
Six types of clouds you can see and how they can help you understand the weather.
1) Cumulus clouds - On a sunny day, rays warm the earth, which heats the air located directly above it. The heated air rises upward due to convection and forms cumulus clouds. These “good weather” clouds are like cotton wool. If you look at the sky filled with cumulus clouds, you can see that they have a flat bottom, located at the same level for all clouds. At this altitude, air rising from ground level cools down to the dew point. It usually doesn't rain from cumulus clouds, which means the weather will be good.
2) Cumulonimbus clouds.
Small cumulus clouds do not rain, but if they grow and grow in height, it is a sign that heavy rain is coming soon. This often happens in summer when morning cumulus clouds turn into cumulonimbus during the day. Cumulonimbus clouds often have a flat top. Air convection occurs inside such a cloud, and it gradually cools until it reaches the temperature of the surrounding atmosphere. At this moment, it loses its buoyancy and can no longer rise higher. Instead, it spreads out to the sides, forming the characteristic anvil shape.
3) Cirrus clouds form in very high layers of the atmosphere. They are smoky because they are composed entirely of ice crystals falling in the atmosphere. When cirrus clouds are carried by winds moving at different speeds, they take on a characteristic curved shape. And only at very high altitudes or at high latitudes, cirrus clouds give out rain that reaches the ground.
4) Stratus Clouds - A low-lying, continuous cloud sheet that covers the sky. Stratus clouds are formed by slowly rising air or gentle winds that cover the cold land or sea surface with moist air. Stratus clouds are thin, therefore, despite the gloomy picture, it is unlikely to rain from them, a little drizzle at most. Stratus clouds are identical to fog, so if you've ever walked in a mountainous area on a foggy day, you've been inside a cloud.
5) Lenticular clouds. Smooth and lenticular lenticular clouds form when air is blown up and over a mountain range, and as it travels over a mountain, the air descends to its previous level. At this time, it heats up and the cloud evaporates. But it can slip further, as a result of which the air rises again and forms another lenticular cloud. This can result in a chain of clouds extending far beyond the mountain range. The interaction of wind with mountains and other surface features is one of the many details that must be taken into account in computer simulations to obtain accurate weather predictions.
6) Kelvin - Helmholtz like a breaking ocean wave. When air masses at different heights move horizontally at different speeds, their state becomes unstable. The boundary between the air masses begins to ripple and form large waves, such clouds are quite rare.

Again I won't be around tonight, but back tomorrow.
More of a shop than a barn but I was thinking that this is what a real Pottery Barn should look like. Taken at Old Sturbridge Village.
From wikipedia - Old Sturbridge Village is a living museum located in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, in the United States, which re-creates life in rural New England during the 1790s through 1830s. It is the largest living museum in New England, covering more than 200 acres (80 hectares). The Village includes 59 antique buildings, three water-powered mills, and a working farm. The museum is a popular tourist and educational field trip destination. Costumed interpreters speaking in modern language help visitors understand 19th-century life.

Moscow International House of Music (building on the right) is a modern center for the performing arts, which has no analogues in Russia. This is an independent production association that organizes performances by Russian and foreign symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, instrumental soloists, opera and ballet artists, theater, jazz, pop and folk groups.
The dome of the House of Music is crowned with an emblem in the form of a treble clef-vane 9.5 meters high; by Zurab Tsereteli. The most complicated roller mechanism allows such a heavy construction to rotate according to the principle of a weather vane. The Brain—is wider than the Sky—
For—put them side by side—
The one the other will contain
With ease—and You—beside—
The Brain is deeper than the sea—
For—hold them—Blue to Blue—
The one the other will absorb—
As Sponges—Buckets—do—
The Brain is just the weight of God—
For—Heft them—Pound for Pound—
And they will differ—if they do—
As Syllable from Sound—

I know you crossed a bridge that I can't follow
I need more time but time can't be borrowed
I'd leave it all behind if I could follow
since the love that you left is all that I get
I want you to know that if I can't be close to you
I settle for the ghost of you
I miss you more than life ♬♪ (more than life) ♬♪

More brightly colored than most wrens, and with a rich musical song, Carolina Wrens are common in open woods and backyards in the southeast. There they busily explore brush piles and low tangles. The adults live in pairs all year, and they may "duet" at any season, with the female giving a chattering note while the male sings. The northern edge of this species' range varies over time: it gradually expands northward during series of mild years, then gets knocked southward again by very severe winters.
Found this one in my backyard in Lake Wales, Florida.

You got a way with words
You take away the hurt
And it’s a blessing and a curse to feel it all
You got a way with me
You put me in my place when I’m petty
Gimme what I want when I’m ready
You always hold it down
Anybody else I’d be gone by now
Doesn’t really matter
All that really matters
second I’m with you
All my love pour out
Serve it on a platter
All that really matters
All that really matters is
You keep showing up
promise I’ll remind you that you
Are More than enough
I get lost inside
All the stars in your eyes
It’s a galaxy
You control the tide
like the moon in the sky
You’re the gravity ...
The sun had just set behind me - the sky was not as exciting as I had wanted, but I still thought it was an interesting scene. Captured with a seven-part panorama.

Sculpted by none other than Mother Nature's hand through centuries of craftwork.
I made this shot last month during the Lincoln County Photo Festival. The workshop was scheduled for a Saturday night with a core rising at around 10:15 and the moon to soon follow at 10:45, that leaves us about a half hour to get a shot provided the clouds cooperated. I'm always at odds with the weather because I'm usually wanting the best of both worlds, clouds in the morning and a clear sky at night than cloud up again in the mooring for sunrise. I know it's a tall order and it's only happened a few times over the last three years but I'm usually ecstatic to get two out of three. The shoot went well and the participants where happy with the class but I felt the best chances for a good comp and position would be the following night, so I decided to stay one more day and return by myself and take another stab at it. I like this location because I can back my car up with the hatch up while taking this photo on a comfy pad with a cold drink to my left and my iPod to the right. Who could ask for more.

Less exuberant than the males of the species, now I present two photos of females of Brazilian Ruby Hummingbird/ Heliodoxa rubricauda.
In my observation of the behavior of these females they seem less territorialists than the males. I saw many of them sharing food without fights, something very uncommon between the males of the species.
Maybe I'm wrong, correct me the specialists, please!

Imagination is more important than knowledge because knowledge is limited whereas imagination encompasses the whole world.
Here's a Red-shouldered Hawk on its way to the nest with some additional nesting material. I believe that the Florida Red-shouldered breed earlier than the species in other parts of the country. Once site had them breeding from January to May when general reference books state the species breed from May to July. In any event, I'm hoping that they are not just faking us out and that we have some new chicks to celebrate. In the course of my reading I learned that the females are larger than the males (probably smarter too) and that the pair are monogamous. Having said that, I've never been able to see the size difference but will pay more attention in the future. Happy 2023 everyone. (Buteo lineatus)
At the same place than the cormorant the Heron too got a catfish. Sorry for the IQ but I did it after sunset and so without any light, so their is some movement blur because to limit the ISO I used a slow shutter speed. Then in post processing I have had to brighten the héron and the water.

"Every Christmas wreath is more than just a decoration...
it's a special reminder of Jesus, the reason for our celebration.
The circle of a Christmas wreath is an never-ending ring,
a reminder of eternal love from our Lord and King.
The Christmas wreath is a sign of welcome, inviting all to enter in...
a reminder of Christ's invitation for all to come to Him.
The middle of a Christmas wreath is a bare and empty space,
a reminder of what life would be without Christ's love and grace.
So each time you see a Christmas wreath hanging from a door,
may your heart rejoice in the One that Christmas is truly for!"

Now that I've tried to
Talk to you and make you understand
All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hands and touch me
Hold me close, don't ever let me go
More than words is all I ever needed you to show
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
'Cause I'd already know
Nothing better than walking down the street and people just start krumpin'

Here's the second photo from last Monday night when I was treated to several magnificent courting dances by a pair of young swans at Whitlingham Country Park. I'd deliberately gone at a time when there would be beautiful lighting, but couldn't have predicted being so close to such a romantic natural display of affection. I feel so privileged, and I do hope you enjoy the images <3<3
Smaller than a redshank, turnstones have a mottled appearance with brown or chestnut and black upperparts and brown and white or black and white head pattern, whilst their underparts are white and legs orange. They spend most of their time creeping and fluttering over rocks, picking out food from under stones.
Turnstones are present for most of the year. Birds from Northern Europe pass through in July and August and again in spring. Canadian and Greenland birds arrive in August and September and remain until April and May. Non-breeding birds may stay through the summer.
