A year ago today my father-in-law died. I bought these flowers for my wife today because I knew today would be hard for her - although in truth every day has been hard for her in the past year.

Most Holy Redeemer is a catholic church in the Castro that has been there for twenty years, very accepting and welcoming to the gay community. But theres a new priest in town and he doesnt like the drag Queens that host fundraisers in the basement. Culture Wars part 2.

It is not at all a special one. Just a simple white feather, perhaps from a dove or a small sparrow, just floated down and landed in front of my feet on the stones. For a second I thought it is not worth taking a picture, there is nothing in it. Then I decided against it (as I am a photographer!!!:) and took a shot.

I think this picture is nice in a way.

I wanted to experiment with some selective colouring. Really love the texture on the Iguana.

Rode the Harley in a 70 mile benefit run today to raise money for the Penrickton Center for Blind Children in Taylor, MI. Great weather and lots of biker support.

Sorry. I don't know what kind of leaves these are but I noticed them on a visit to El Portal Rain Forest Center in El Yunque National Forest near San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I really liked the long arching shapes and the parallel lines in each leaf.

El Yunque is the only tropical rain forest in the U. S. national forest system. According to Wikipedia, there is the Tongass U.S. National rain forest in Alaska, but El Yunque is the only tropical rain forest.

What is a Seamless Texture / Pattern?

A seamless texture is an special image, where one side of a image exactly matches the opposite side, so that the edges blend into each other when repeated. Seamless textures are used for desktop wallpaper, webpage backgrounds, video games, Photoshop fills and in 3D rendering programs.

How did you make it?

This texture was made using software specially designed to aid in seamless texture creation. Some of the programs I’ve use are Photoshop, Illustrator, Filter Forge, Genetica, Image Synth, Alien Skin, Topaz Labs, Imagelys, and a Wacom tablet.

This has been sitting on my hard drive for a while. To allay any fears, the structure in the foreground is not a wheelchair ramp.

This actually says something that I wrote out, but then I had so much fun playing with my own homemade textures that I make with my hipstamatic app, that I decided to leave it like this. :)
