The winds of recent storms have long since ripped these beautiful red, gold and yellow leaves from their trees. I’m so pleased my final memories of this breathtaking season are of this lovely road which leads into fields soon to be protected behind an old iron gate.

All my dear Flickr friends.
Now it's time for me to say goodbye.
My body is not doing so well anymore and my time is spent trying to rebuild my health.
I also have a son, seriously ill with cancer, and I want to be together as much as possible, with him and his family.
It's hard to describe how much all the friends on Flickr have meant over the years. All the warmth, encouragement, inspiration has been a daily joy. A big thank you to everyone. The Flickr community is unbeatable.
I wish you all the best and great luck in the future.

I´m on my feet again , slowly , slowly, I'll be back.
A lot of training right now, and it's hard to sit at the computer.
But I'm glad that finally I'll soon have two healthy knees to go with it.

This is far from the delicate, ethereal image I had in mind when I `shot' this flower. My macro lens brought out all of the imperfections in the petals, so I went the opposite route, and processed this in Analog Efex Pro, applying a texture and various other effects.
I'm not 100% happy with the composition either. I think I should have included a little more of the centre of the flower at the bottom of the image. Heyho!

Saw this cat sitting on fence watching birds. She eventually sauntered down the fence line to home, knowing the food waiting there did not need to be chased.
