A water sprite (also called a water fairy or water faery) is a general term for an elemental spirit associated with water, according to alchemist Paracelsus. Water sprites are said to be able to breathe water or air, and in some cases, can fly. They are mostly harmless unless threatened.

Didn't notice it was a rather complicated texture until this shot was taken.
Textures, rock textures on Parton beach near Whitehaven. I just love the curving textures of these rocks.

One of the last shots I took after the sun had gone down one evening. With my tripod kept low to capture the textures in the sand and ripples in the flowing water down the beach, I also wanted to capture the people way down on the waters edge to emphasize the flatness of this beach and how far the tide goes out. Keeping a low PoV enabled me to capture the light and colour reflecting back off the water and wet sand.
I took a couple more shots then i off to the pub for a couple of pints of ale. Croyde bay North Devon.
Watkins Glen State Park is in the village of Watkins Glen, south of Seneca Lake in Schuyler County in New York's Finger Lakes region. Known for its natural beauty, the Watkins Glen State Park features a series of waterfalls and gorges that are sure to amaze anyone. An almost two mile hike will take you past 19 waterfalls and up over 800 stone steps. We spent a morning there in October; it was a true bucket list experience. We went on a weekday morning, so there weren’t a lot of people. The water flow was down, but the fall colors were at their peak. The manmade stonework blends seamlessly with the natural stone, like it was made by the dwarfs of Middle Earth. The hike was so amazing I didn’t even notice the 800 steps.
I processed this picture in Photoshop using four textures.

I processed this geranium in Elements, Topaz Studio and then applied a Topaz texture. Just something different.
Thanks for views, comments and favs :)
In February of 2016 I visited a little stretch of beach at the mouth of the Ochlockonee River called Mashes Sands. I wanted to take some shots with the sun rising over the water. When I arrived it was still a little while to first light so I took my camera and tripod and walked back down the road to a marshy area that was separated from the beach by a stand of pine trees. I was in luck because there was a bit of fog on the marsh and as first light arrived it painted some beautiful, soft colors behind the fog. As the sunrise grew near I moved down to the beach to shoot other targets. It was three years before I returned to that spot, but Hurricane Michel had completely rearranged the place. In some ways the changes made it a better place for photographers, but this spot was opened up and the trees are gone. I always take extra time when processing a shot of something that is gone. I processed this image in Photoshop over four days using at least one texture.
