Construction about to begin for the first phase of the new Textile Heritage Park, located on ground that once held Central Park - a shared park that was used by the nearby mill communities for recreation. Most recently, the area was a parking lot for the Monaghan Mill before it closed and became the Lofts of Greenville residential community. Now it will become a place to remember and learn about Greenville's textile heritage, while serving as a recreation space for the community.

while peter and i were sorting through a bin of craft stuff we brought back from his mom's house we discovered a small plastic bag full of miles and miles of tatted trim made by his grandmother. i'm going to have to get started on some heirloom table linens to use it on. i have no idea how much is here but it's a lot, mostly different sizes of simple chain-and-ring with a couple of different patterns thrown in.
