was wörtlich übersetzt "verschlingen" bedeutet.

Devoré (also called burnout) is a fabric technique particularly used on velvets, where a mixed-fibre material undergoes

a chemical process to dissolve the cellulose fibers to create

a semi-transparent pattern against more solidly woven fabric.

The same technique can also be applied to textiles other than velvet, such as lace or the fabrics in burnout t-shirts.

Devoré comes from the French verb dévorer, meaning literally to devour. (Source: Wikipedia)

I wonder if she was wearing the hat to hide the mask!

She must have because under the hat was a scarf around her head and tied nicely under her chin! Did I mention she was also wearing sunglasses?

This is my daughter's prom dress which she was supposed to happily wear last year for her prom but, sadly, due to Covid, our school board cancelled her prom AND her graduation. We were not permitted to have large gatherings. We are still in another lockdown as I write this! This past year and a half has honestly been a complete crap show. I am sick and tired of it all....the cleaning and sanitizing I have to do at work and wearing all the PPE. I miss the way it was. I miss seeing peoples faces and smiles! I miss seeing and hugging my family!

While my kiddo may not have had the prom of her dreams she did manage to put her dress on and have a small gathering at our house with her group of best friends last September, just before they parted ways to head off to university and I was able to get some beautiful photos of her and her friends. I realize this past year hasn't been what we expected but I am trying to make the best of it. I am just tired...
