MODERN TIMES! COMMUNICATION.
From a very young age you see children with mobile phones, nowadays.
I personally think that it is still a very expensive must have 'gadget'? How did we all ever survive without it????????
Anyway, here, this girl was only playing with her mum's phone, pretending, it was great fun!

been told that when there's economic depression in korea, the popularity of hot food & miniskirts skyrocket. here we are doing the former, but we aren't strong enough for Buldak, the hottest dish, it's just TOO MUCH!!! owwww!
My goal was to turn lights on and off via cell phone text messaging. Using Bob Paauwe's iLink INSTEON software (http://www.bobsplace.com/ilinks/) as well as Twitter (http://www.twitter.com), I was able to network my cell phone with my house's electrical system. The goal is to implement this on a larger scale at the Duke University Smart Home (http://www.smarthome.duke.edu/).
Special thanks to Bob Paauwe for developing iLink and helping me with the configuration. Also, thank you to Summize for providing me with API access to Twitter.

If you are a young adult or a family member of a young adult who is in crisis this hotline number is for you. I have below defined what I believe a Critical Crisis can be in a young adults life and hopefully you can reach out for encouragement during these times in you life.
Critical Crisis Definition:
A crisis is a turning point or decisive moment in events where you as a young adult or as a family member have met a crossroad. Typically, it is the moment from which an imminent critical trauma may go on to death or recovery. More loosely, it is a term meaning 'a testing time' or 'emergency event'. This crossroad is a crucial, decisive point or situation where a turning point, or an emotionally stressful event or traumatic change in a person's life will be taking place. A Critical situation you or a loved one is either in or verging on a state of crisis or emergency.
The Young Adult Crisis Hotline offers immediate emotional support by telephone volunteers trained to help young adults who may be having relational problems, addictions, have an eating disorder, are suicidal, in emotional distress, or in need of reassurance. Services are free, confidential, and anonymous. Professionally trained volunteers handle incoming calls using active, caring, and nonjudgmental listening and problem-solving skills. All calls are free, confidential and anonymous.
Young Adults in crisis... they're everywhere. Faced with physical and emotional abuse, drugs, peer pressure and the like, many today just don't have the resources or support to handle the pressure.
The marketing experts at Hallmark say that "15 million Americans now attend weekly support groups for chemical addictions and other problems. Another 100 million relatives are cheering on their addicted loved ones. This means that half of all Americans are either in recovery or helping someone who is."
We personally want to be able to reach out and help those who are in critical crisis with personal encouragement and care through the storm that faces your life personally. Please call us and let me try to help you right where you are at in your life. No matter how far, or how low you think you are it is not too late for help!
Most of the time, we are just facing what we have personally chosen previously over and over again as a choice. Now we are facing a mountain and need help or a guide to help us through the dangerous path around the mountain passes. We just want to be that guide and be there for you if you want that guide, to survive the mountain passes. Please call, anytime day or night!

The university have got down with all the cool cats and been totally hip by sending text messages to current final year students advertising its postgraduate open day on Wednesday. Quite how many will actually receive them is another matter - not everyone will have their mobile numbers on their student records and others will have defunct numbers. It just happens that the university has my most up-to-date number.

In the hours before the Hillville fire, burning south west of Taree on the NSW Mid North Coast, began its destructive path crossing the Pacific Highway east of Possum Brush and Rainbow Flat residents progressively received a series of text fire warning messages from RFS headquarters.
The destructive path of the fire saw a lot of properties burnt and a number of homes lost in the Possum Brush and Rainbow Flat areas and it ultimately burned all the way through Khappinghat National Park to Wallabi Point and Old Bar while also heading south to threaten Tallwoods Village and Diamond Beach.
In the days afterwards the fire formed a long front which stretched from the top of the Pulpit at Tallwoods west to Mt Talawahl.
Two 737 Jets bombed the top of Mt Talawahl with pink retardant in order to protect vital telecommunications infastructure but the fire burned around the base of Mt Talawahl through Pipeclay Creek Road and Candoomakh Creek Road just north of Nabiac where it seriously threatened a cousins property on Candoormakh Creek Road before heading over the ridge to Wrights Lane near Dyers Crossing. I heard sadly tonight, that the old ancestral home of my grandfather and great grandfather, Beau Vista, where my father was raised had burned down as the fire went through but I have yet to confirm the accuracy of that report.
The fire front also took a turn to the east into properties behind Failford at Greys Road where sadly another home was lost. Pushed along by strong southerly winds it now headed for the Bullocky Run and Highlands subdivisions where fortunately an intensive firefighting response overnight saved all of the homes as far as I know.
With the fire now just a few hundred metres short of linking up with the originating point of the Darrawank Fire of a few weeks previously, it burned along Failford Road and Bungwahl Creek into the southern end of Timbertops Estate where its eastward then northerly march led it directly to my brothers rural acrage boundary fence.
At this point the fire had got into tall trees and was a twenty metre high inferno as it headed north fanned by strong south easterly winds along the back of all the rural acreage properties on Laurina Drive at Timbertops Estate.
Most of these properties were cleared, including my brothers place and were horse paddocks so access was possible for the brigades to prevent the fire burning too far onto the back of the various properties as it came through.
Fortunately by the time the fire front began running through the dense forest along the back of the Laurina Drive properties there were four fire brigades on the scene as well as two big water bombing helicopters and two fixed wing float plane water bombers.
With my brothers property right in the path of the inferno, and in particular, his stables and large colourbond work shed, the water bombers did their job quickly and effectively, saving the two buildings from burning down by dropping dozens of loads of water on the advancing fire.
It was very fortunate that there was a large dam just 300 metres from the fire front and the helicopters made good use of it while the float planes flew to the Wallamba River not too far away to pick up their water.
A team of eight or so local volunteers, including myself, had also come to assist before the fire front arrived and we were able to help stop the spread of the spot fires across the dry grass as they travelled towards other properties to the north. We were also able to stop the fire burning across grass toward my brothers home. It was however fortunate that a brigade arrived to assist just as the volunteers were losing the battle with the rapidly spreading grass fire.
Without those volunteers and the brigades the fire may have burnt to the north to other properties and it could potentially have spotted on the eastern side of the Lakesway opening up a new fire front that could have threatened Homestead Estate.
Fortunately none of that happened and the fire was reduced to a watch and act basis by late that afternoon with a couple of brigades mopping up.

It was a wrong number, but I couldn't help but think about the party I was missing -- or, at least, what the guy brought instead of a bong.
