This photograph was shot on the Connecticut River. The stick poking up out of the island is an osprey nest, and the reason it is there is because my town put up osprey nests to help combat the osprey’s loss of territory due to DDT pollution. I utilized a long exposure, and the movement in the clouds signifies how the ospreys were overlooked when people decided to use DDT and other similar pesticides.
I'd just left my local Co-Op when I noticed this small dog (not sure of the breed) tethered to one of the crates, anxiously awaiting the return of its owner.
Mr. Slostad was our feature speaker this year. He works for Tethers Unlimited, a company that actually sends tethers into space and does stuff with them! His presentation was entitled "Thinking Unlimited".
Just collected my dad's Yashica FX-7 from the service centre, I tot of giving it a brand new task.. Tethering! Hahahaaa..

I'm practicing taking pictures with my remotely tethered Canon DigiRebel and lightroom. Works like a charm, now i just need to get something more interesting to take a picture of.

One cool thing about New Zealand is that they have a massive tidal swing. Like 9m or something absurd like that. So in coastal areas like Abel Tasman you get these huge bays that empty out at low tide and there will be boats beached out there in the middle of nowhere and shellfish lying all about like a wasteland.
