Okay the horse was tethered and I just shot the picture.
Occasionally these appear and are left down the river bank to fend for themselves all day as the world goes by, only stopped from wondering off by the longish line that fastens them to the river bank here.
Best seen large.
This could be my alternative day 6 photo. How I feel: free in appearance but tethered in reality. Or is it apparently tethered but actually free?
I really worries me when people do this. Anyone could just walk up and take him/her. This dog was so friendly. I had to stop and pet him/her before going in. He/she was crying for attention as I approached, sounding so desperate.

The Small Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an is one of the city's more ancient Tang Dynasty monuments, dating from 709, the tower was built to house Buddhist scriptures brought back from India. It was damaged by several earthquakes in the medieval period, one of which caused a large fissure to open through it's centre, another later caused it to close again!
There are several buildings surviving in the complex from the ancient temple that stood here, along with many animal sculptures.

Have now bought about 12 sets of cables thinking the usb erratic connectivity while my D750 and 7200 are tethered. The last set of cables I bought is the Tether Tools and I even bought a jerk stopper. Even that one works intermittently. The message above proves it is not the cables but the camera ports.

I happened to notice this attached to one of the poles that support the chain railing on the boardwalk over the marsh. It's been there for a while now and was still there when I checked on it a couple weeks ago. I wonder if it will overwinter there if somehow miraculously it survives all the foot traffic there unmolested.
Only because of its location, I'm thinking that it may be related to the orangey caterpillars that are next in my stream. But I don't know what either will become.

speed test on my laptop while being tethered with my iPhone 3GS...
not jailbroken, just changed the settings with a downloadable file to allow tethering... works great!!! this was with the phone connected to the laptop via bluetooth, could not get phone to connect via usb cable (would to iTunes/pc but wouldn't as network connection)... AT&T can suck it :)
