Safely tethered, 140ft high on the edge of the Baltic art gallery roof waiting for our turn to zip line! A bracing activity for a Saturday morning in the chilly North East of England, I can tell you! All in the name of charity, Sat Nov 1st.

900ft zip line across the River Tyne. BRILLIANT fun :-)

Hey, I just realized that the latest version of Lightroom allows you yo shoot tethered to your laptop. Obviously not very practical out in nature but very cool shooting still life's and other stuff around the house.

I'm in downtown San Francisco on an iPhone 3G. The speed freaking rocks!

More testing with the Tether MFD, using the Aercam/Sprint remote viewing spacecraft as an "assembly droid" to attach the tether to the appropriate points for tether-assisted assembly of the modules.

How I would love to jump into the boat and row up and down the river to get a different perspective.

On the other hand lots of space to roam around up here also.....

The balloon was until this season tethered in the Lower Pleasure Gardens in Bournemouth town centre.

It has just failed it airworthyness thingey, but hopefully will be back soon

I thought some of you might find these photos interesting.

It has to have a security guard all night, as this area more than its fair share of anti-social drink and drug induced behaviour late at night.

What is most fascinating to me is the Parks and Gardens recent change of planting policy.

All the beds in this area were planted in a formal style originating in the Victorian era, and one was even 'carpet' bedded and sometimes had the town crest or a clock.

As this way of working became less cost effective, the team have turned to big bold herbaceous plantings which I think are far more beautiful, and so much easier to maintain.

They also don't show any minor vandalism damage, which affected the earlier bedding schemes very badly.

The church in the background was St.Andrews Presbyterian Church, then a nightclub, an eating house, and is now possibly going become a more multiple use building.

I love the fact that in our parks anyone can sit on the grass, unlike in France for example: I just wish that everyone would remove their own litter!

Shot hand-held with the Sony NEX7 and the SEL55210 lens.

The wrangler at the resort carried three birds with him, or at least three at a time, I'm not sure they were always the same three. Two large and once small that I imagined was a baby but he told me no, a different species. It was surprising to see the 'relationship' between bird and handler -- when he walked off to find the facilities or a drink, the birds were visibly anxious, searching for him.

Our little guy has been home the past few days with a tonsil/adnoidectomy. The slow healing process made for a lot of quiet time and photography was nearly impossible. Then it dawned on me, tether my 20D to the laptop and let him click the shutter with the mouse! I got 5 attempts before he was bored!

Strobist: 285HV fired into the keyboard to light him and 285HV camera right for separation.

yeah, tether ball is actually extremely hard

This horse is tethered across the road from us. By first looking at the horse you would think there is nothing wrong. The horse looks very healthy and well feed. The owner (Mexican) will bring the horse to this vacant lot around 7 pm and leave it over night to eat grass but with no water. usually he will get the horse in morning. That means the horse was with out water for about 12hrs.There has been a few times when he has not got the horse until late afternoon. Now we are getting into some serious lack of water. One of the first times, I called the sheriff they got all over me for not knowing what I was talking about. They even went so far to question me if was so sure that the horse had no water that I was on the lot illegally.A sheriff came out a couple of days ago. He Said "We can't do anything because the horse looks too good". Today this horse went about 22hrs. with-out water. Quote from the dispatch said" we can't do anything because you gave the horse water and now it is not with out water". Now is this not a dunderhead or what??. I know that horses drink about 10-15 gal. of water a day. You call it, cruel or is it OK ???

Flickr has become all most a full time job and that’s not why I’m here. I’m tired of giving comments and getting nothing in return. I have some very good friends & contacts that leave comments on a regular basis. And then we have the ones that look at my images and say nothing. If you stop by my photo stream Please say something, positive or negative. If you choose to say something negative please explain why. I’m on a learning curve and all the help is appreciated. I have some contacts that would give comments all the time now they have gone by the way side. So from now on I will only comment on the ones that comment back on my photos….

Now let’s have a great time on Flickr….

Marine diatom from reef aquarium,40x, DIC

It appears the only thing holding up this dead Cone flower is a spider web.

ok, part of the deal with me doing the 365 project was to learn some new functionalities... and sense I got home later than when i wanted to (ok, even when i get home on time I am getting home later than I want to) I got a little lazy with my pic tonight. BUT, on the bright side, I did learn how to shoot tethered to my computer.
